That may apply
to the third gen expeditions but the 4th gen’s come standard with the 7-way regardless if they have HD tow package or not. On a 4th gen 2018+ model the 7-way is not a way to tell on if it has the HD tow package.
You’ll need the HD (heavy duty) tow package that will allow you to tow up to 9,300 lbs with a standard length expedition or, I believe, 9,000 lbs with a max length expedition (for 4th generation 2018+ models). If you find one without HD tow package, it will be limited to 6,000 lbs towing.
Max...
It may be the OBD2 adapter. Does you adapter have a manual switch on it to switch from high and low CANBUS? If it does make sure youve got the switch set for the correct CANBUS you’re working with or else it will error out.
What version of Forscan are you using? Are you using a free version...
Not sure if your still looking for help with this...
The short answer to your question is no (The original light fixtures were single bulbs with a high and low filament).
Attached is the forscan spreadsheet for the F150 of similar years and there coding may be compatible (try at your own...
Okay below is you as-built and then next to it are changes to try. This is for 2015-2017 model year expeditions - please note that code may have been changed by ford during this time and the below modifications may not work!
Changes to make are in red.

They discontinued the max tow package (HDPP) on the F150s there’s not a snowballs chance in hell that ford would offer a heavy duty payload/trailer tow capacity option for the current expedition generation.
Is there a particular reason you want the indicator lights to disappear? My wife has the same lousy styled dash on her 2020 edge and the icons are BIG, but they serve a function. Without them I may not realize I don’t have lights on at night with as bright as the DRLs are on the edge.
Not sure it’s a hard number but it is interesting that have it in the towing guide. My guess is it’s to prevent someone from grossly overloading the cargo carry capacity of the expedition with the tongue weight of a trailer.
The WDH is part of your tongue weight total. The good news is that as...
You can disable auto high beams in the instrument cluster, it’s just a setting that can be unselected.
Best way to disable the foot activated lift gate is the physical modification.
Not sure why someone would think an expedition couldn’t be stolen. If a thief is motivated enough, your vehicle will become theirs. Anything you want to add would just be another deterrent on top of the factory theft deterrents already in the vehicle.
You can place a master switch on the power...
It’s not likely that you’ll end up with a rental unless it’s stipulated in your warranty paperwork. Even if your paperwork says you should have one, dealers normally don’t provide one until they’ve diagnosed the issue and can provide you with a lead time for repairs. After all that they may also...
The rear bar mounting points have to be angled a certain way so that when you put weight on the suspension they stand upright. The mounting tabs on the bar need to bend so the outermost edges point up and out. If you mount it and the mounting points point inward you have it on incorrectly. Easy...
Try it with the XLT trim. My bet is it’s not option-able on the timberline trims but is on the lower XLT.
The inline configurator may not be correct either. Best to go into a dealership and talk with sales person, they can provide you with an official order guide showing what can be optioned on...
Did you reset the bms system after having the new battery installed?
If you’ve reset the bms to account for a new battery, I might start by checking the modules in forscan. There may be a soft code stored that indicates that a module isn’t properly transmitting.
Checking and swapping...
Burning could be the condenser clutch locking up. Had mine fail two years ago, similar smells.
Also as it gets cold and you auto start the vehicle. There are defrost strips under the wipers and they get hot enough to toast the wipers and also cause a faint burning rubber smell.
You’ll need to compare the window stickers for each, if available. Check the rear axle codes on each to better understand the final drive ratio (3.31s only come on non HD tow prepped expeditions, 3.73s will come on expeditions with the HD tow prep added).
You can google the tow guide for each...
Anything is possible with $$,$$$ and custom fabrication costs may even exceed the actual value of the vehicle.
If you do decide to have it custom lifted 6+ inches, start a new thread that shows the build progress. While it’s not something most of us would do, it may be a great learning...
Chances are your vehicle battery is slowly failing. Loss of touch sensors on the doors and perimeter unlocking functions are usually the first subtle signs that you may need to replace the battery soon.
Easy way to check is to leave it on a trickle charger overnight and see if your rear lift...
Would get more response on the third generation page of this forum as this may be an issue that other users have experienced before.

Call up your local custom automotive fabrication shop and ask for them to take a look and quote you a price. No one makes an off the shelf kit to do such a lift. What you want to do requires custom fabrication to keep all of your steering and driveline geometry within spec.
I’ll try to help answer your questions to the best of my understanding.
1) Can I tow an RV trailer, if so, is it safe, is it good for the vehicle? How much (lbs) can I tow?
Yes you can tow an RV trailer. Max rating tow capacity for a non HD towing package equipped expedient is 6,000lbs and I...
