Cannot seem to get a clean dipstick to be able to read the oil level. Whether waiting 15 mins after driving, or letting sit much longer, I pull it out, wipe it off and re-insert. Upon pulling out the second time, the dipstick comes out "wet" way past the reading area. Previous service was done...
I'm guessing it's related to the drizzle/rain interacting with the hands-free function on the door handles with the fob in range. This happens when I wash the car with my fob on me.
Could be the brake pedal switch. Do the brake lights come on (might need someone to look). Sounds like what happens when you press the Start button with foot off the brake.
What I do in this case is simply not fully close the doors until I'm ready for the boards to retract. You can bring either front or rear door to the almost closed position and the boards will stay deployed. I guess it depends on how long you are loading/unloading things though. In my case, it's...
Follow-up, according to the 2020 Owners Manual, if deployed, the running boards will return to the stowed position when the vehicle speed exceeds 5 MPH. In other words, they will only stay deployed when the car is stopped to allow for cleaning the top surfaces and to access the roof. Ford...
I haven't verified yet in the 4th Gen, but our 3rd Gen would not keep the boards deployed beyond one engine on/off cycle. You could deploy them while the car is running and they would stay out after shutdown, but would retract again on the next start. Perhaps 4th Gen behaves differently.
We bought our '20 in December 2022, original battery, and mine has never activated either. I discovered a "screen" in the Information Display that indicated AS/S did not activate due to battery charging. When you are stopped and see the grayed-out AS/S indicator with the line through it, you can...
In the two months I've owned my 2020 with 75K miles and original battery, I've never had Auto Start/Stop available (screen says battery is charging), and the FordPass App alerts me the vehicle is in "deep sleep" every time I shutdown due to low 12V battery. I haven't had any issues with door...
Make sure you go through the vehicle settings menu and check that the power running boards are enabled. The default is OFF. I found this out when I disconnected my 12V battery and the settings went back to the default.
Another thing I learned after buying my used 2020 Max Limited with 74K...
I concur. I saw the same thing. 4A stays lit, but Drive Mode is back to Normal. Have to manually rotate the dial to get back to Grass/Gravel/Snow mode. Of course, then I always rotate the knob in the wrong direction and have to correct back the other way.
There's another thread that reports the same thing--Sport Mode drives all 4 wheels. Curious if the 4A light switches ON when Sport Mode is selected? I would assume so.
I was basing my comments upon observing the off-road power distribution display. I was not going 50 mph, much slower, and was not seeing any power to the fronts in Normal and 4A at slow speeds. Maybe at 50 mph it always sends power to the front as you say, but I did not test it at those speeds.
I am new to my 2020 Gen 4 Expy and only have the 4A version (not 4H or 4L that comes with towing). On my first drive in slippery/snowy conditions, I also experienced unnerving sliding a couple of times (rear end kicked out) when going around corners. I didn't notice if the TC light came on, but...
Same. The FordPass for our "new to us" 2020 is doing this every time we shut down. Upon opening the door to drive it, we sometimes get a SYNC screen giving a countdown to either start the car or go back into deep sleep. Did a 12V battery health check, and came back less than optimal. One other...
While this does not fix your problem with the Auto Start/Stop, I wonder if the Expy will restart in N like many other Auto Tranny cars? This would be better than shifting to P in traffic, as you say.
Yea, my car was a lease/rental also. The other thing I noticed is the Auto Start/Stop has been disabled. Is always grayed out on the display. Maybe that's a good thing, though.
We recently bought a used 2020 Expy that I believe should have Auto Start/Stop. It has the button next the Hazard Lights Button, at least. I am familiar with this feature on other cars, so have been prepared for the engine to stop in the Expy, but I have yet to see it. I guess it's possible that...
Recently purchased a 2020 Expy MAX that came with only one fob. We had the selling dealer promise a second fob (in writing), but they're dragging their feet, it seems. Maybe it's a supply chain issue (availability of the part?) or it's just not a priority for them, but they're not returning my...
We had our 2015 EL Limited for the past two years. No problems whatsoever. But, we found this very nice 2020 MAX Limited the other day and traded for it on impulse really. So far thrilled with the new design and features!
