No harm in changing the fluid...and actually it'll probably be beneficial.

Codes will show even if the truck is not running. If you are trying to start the truck and there are sensors not working, codes should still be stored.

How To: Center Console Refrigerator Install

Any experience on how hot the center console area gets with the fridge running during a trip? Any noticeable difference?

    RPM questions

Your Expy will serve you well. Don't be influenced/bothered by all of the posts you see on this Forum. Just remember, people post on here asking about their problem/issue or to give advice and help others. Considering the number of Expeditions made, the number of users on here represent a...

Totally normal. Rev limiter to protect the engine/transmission (in case someone where to pop it into D).

Those who have Extended Service Plans (ESP)

I checked Flood and Ziegler with their prices being very similar to Lombard. The item that swayed me toward Lombard was the inspection requirement...Lombard sent a third-party inspector to my house to inspect my Expy. This made it much easier for me to obtain the required paperwork for the ESP.

Those who have Extended Service Plans (ESP)

I recently purchased an ESP from Lombard Ford, and can confirm the contract of 48 Months/50K miles starts from the contract purchase date. My ESP expires in 2030 and at 111k miles.

About to change battery for first time

Use the BMS reset procedure and you will be fine. I just changed the battery in my 2019 using the BMS reset with no problems.

2022 Limited rear climate controls not showing up on front screen

Interesting they found a corrupted file was causing the issue. I would think the new APIM would have fixed the issue, unless it came with the corrupted file.

Ford quietly redesigned the thermostat in 2022...replace it

Wow, that's ridiculous! Did they at least put down the crack pipe long enough to tell you this, or was it between puffs? :D

Ford quietly redesigned the thermostat in 2022...replace it

I agree the Service Manager receiving a monthly bonus for amount of $$ generated could be a poor (shady) motivator. The Service Advisors (SA) trying to always upsale or 'accidentally' putting items on the service invoice is where you have to closely watch the dealerships before/after any...

    22 trailer brake controller

Great job being persistent and getting this figured out. I'm sure many other owners will benefit from your discovery. :favorites13: If able, will you share what module and line you changed in FORScan to make this work?

New to the community few questions

Changing the thermostat to the new/updated part is probably the best 1st thing you can do to your Expy.

    Coolant Leak

Yeah, don't count on the ESP warranty covering the hoses. At the bottom of their PremiumCare brochure it lists those item not covered and "hoses" are listed under the 'Repairs Related to Your Maintenance Requirements' and are not covered under warranty. But, can't hurt to ask/insist.

2019 Max Platinum 39K miles and a leaky sunroof

+1 PremiumCARE will NOT cover any water leaks. It's listed in part of the contract and brochure as what isn't covered, and gives the specific example of "water leaks".

Any pointers for installing the OEM trailer brake controller in a 23 w/o tow max

Previous MY Expeditions had the wire loom and connector installed behind the panel where the brake controller mounts. I know non-HD '18-'22s have the connector in place and ready to hook up. I was able to install the OEM brake controller on my non-HD '19 with no difficulty and enable the TBC...

Needed a quick oil change. Wish I had gone to the dealer.

Update: Today I received a text from the dealership about an upcoming survey for the services I received...if I couldn't give them an Excellent, please call the Service Manager, which I did. I told the SM about my service experience and he asked if a FREE oil change would allow me to answer...

Any pointers for installing the OEM trailer brake controller in a 23 w/o tow max

FORScan won't show the TBC module...you have to look in the IPC module to enable. In the IPC, there should be a line to enable Trailer Brake Controller. Once you install the OEM brake controller, use FORScan to enable the controller in the IPC.

Got a hitch in my giddyup!

Best way to disable the ASS is to use the Autostop Eliminator. For 2022+ Expys it's about $110 and looks to be very simple to install. I put one on my 2019 and it's great!

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

Your missing the actual powerfold motors on the mirrors. You would have to replace your OEM mirrors with powerfold mirrors, install the appropriate wire harness, and then find the specific FORScan line(s) to change/enable powerfold. It may be possible, but very difficult...not a simple 'enable'.

Needed a quick oil change. Wish I had gone to the dealer.

I agree with what others have mentioned. Local indy shops for the most part are pretty good and Dealerships aren't always the best. I just had my oil changed yesterday by a local Dealer (I wanted to ensure my Expy was in their database with my name/address) and won't be going back for future...

Turbo gauge reading flutters erratically and engine temperature spikes

Bummer your dealer didn't have a clue as to what was causing the temp spikes, it's been documented/proven on this Forum the older model Thermostats are failing and not working properly. I replaced my t-stat with a slightly colder part and my temps are 20-30 degrees cooler on my road trips than...
