Yes, you are correct on the power plant. The Lexus version will continue to be sold here in the states, likely with the same power plant mated with some hybrid motors. I’m glad to have gotten the naturally aspirated V8… last of the Mohicans.
We are adding a Toyota Land Cruiser to our fleet but mainly for its off road prowess. While it’s head and shoulders above a Tundra I’m under no allusions about the out dated tech when compared to our Navigator. When performing as designed the 3.5 Ecoboost is marvelous, but the Land Cruiser...
I just used my 1UP roof rack on the factory roof bars. Other than the hight it was amazingly simple, I prefer this to the Yakima swing away hitch mount when it comes to the ‘fuss’ category. However, I would only prefer it if there was a step stool or small ladder as I’m hight challenged. 4...
There was zero mention of it in the paperwork I got back from the service provider. I should scan it myself and see what shows up on my OBD fusion thing.
I just got mine back from 1st set of cam phasers. I still have what I suspect is a waste gate rattle. For anyone who also has had this, does it cause a loss of boost? I feel like mine isn’t as peppy in it he lower rpms as before. I did just spend a week in a nautilus and I wanted to make...
We did the maintenance and extended warranty on our Navigator. Warranty is paid for now with the cam phasers being replaced at 49k. Maintenance plan has been nice and is almost paid for with work done, plus they will continue to pick it up wherever I am and give me a loaner. Super handy...
While this is sound logic I would have to think once the new oil is added whatever was still in the pan would be diluted enough to circulate through the engine allowing the filter and catch any contaminates. Unless we’re talking large enough particles that they get trapped in the oil pump...
I just checked my Lincoln app and I have the same thing on mine. I guess they can do this when I take it in Tuesday for a different warranty issue I’m having resolved. They ordered my phaser stuff a month ago and we’re still waiting on that stuff.
It was throwing phaser codes but the CEL went...
We’ve been using the Yakima FullSwing and it does well. We like the fact that it will move out of the way while loaded with bikes so we can access the rear hatch. As seen in my post above, I have 2 1up roof racks coming… these will see some duty on my Navigator for the next several weeks and...
I’m going to keep the Navigator until the extended warranty is out. It’s far too nice at what it’s built for, road trip and daily driver for the family. The Land Cruiser is getting completely purpose built for trips with this camper before I take delivery and will be strictly for adventure. I...
The 2.5lb H3R is far too large to fit in the console. The Element will fit anywhere, which is great and all but I want something that won’t toast the electronics hence the H3R Halguard.
I’m trying to find a good front seat mount for my 2.5lb H3R fire extinguisher. The H3R universal seat mount will not work with the Navigator seats. I checked the forum search feature and didn’t come up with anything. I have been carrying a Element 50 and it is fine but I wanted something else...
Because nothing made here in the States has the capabilities as this one does. We currently have a Land Cruiser on the way to take over tow duties, the Navigator is fine for anything rated forest service road and easier so we need something to match the trailer prowess.
Update: so I ended up finding a short in a running light on the camper that was shorting on the frame and sending the voltage back through the anderson plug to the vehicle which the fried breakaway cable just happened to ground and fry from on the hitch. I rectified that issue but still have...
The line from the battery runs through a 50amp breaker. The camper is from South Africa and this is how the power them while in tow, the 7 pin does nothing but trailer brakes and lights.
I’m glad to hear your finally getting the proper performance and driving characteristics out of this vehicle. Hopefully all this drama happened early enough that the pain of that experience will wane with time.
This post piggybacks from my previous electrical post. I’m getting 2.5 to 7.5 volts from my battery ground to the chassis and any bolt or chassis ground I touch. Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn’t this reading be 0 volts and anything other than 0 is evidence of something amiss, correct?
Yes, it’s the original battery and has shown 12.3-12.5 volts the few times I’ve tested it this week. I haven’t load tested it but I will tomorrow… this is a good suggestion for the seat issue.
