Go over 6 months between oil changes?

Modern synthetic oils can go past 6 months no problem. I don't drive mine often so it ends up being changed roughly once a year, which lines up with around 6k miles.

2011 Exp XLT EL OE rear sway bar info needed

There's a number of things you could do to help, I don't think a larger OE bar would be worth it. I'd either go straight to Hellwig, or consider getting better struts like 4600s or 5100s if wanting to lift.

Dobinsons Suspension Lift on 3rd or 4th Gen Expedition

I've been looking for the past few months at suspension upgrades for my 2017. Main goals are increased ground clearance and better damping while loaded down. As we know, the IRS isn't the best when near the max capacity. Just now stumbled across this setup from Dobinsons, who are a very well...

    3rd Gen Suspension

The front shock lower attachment mount changed in 2014. The rear shocks are pretty much the same from 07+ however. F150 parts of similar year will work for the front, rear is Expedition specific of course.

    3.5 EB probs?

It's an unpopular opinion but I don't give much value to what that FordTechMuck guy says, he has a whole business around attracting views to his channel with catchy/scary headlines and topics. Yes he's a tech, and does good work (seemingly), but remember he only sees the vehicles that have...

    3.5 EB probs?

The 15-17 Expeditions run the first gen 3.5. I took a JLT can from a previous Mustang I had and ran new hoses to work on the passenger side. Trimmed the engine cover and reinstalled everything. It definitely collects some oil.

Light or loose steering after lift

Upgraded sway bars from Hellwig and good control arms with more caster built in would be two parts you can change to get a better driving experience.

    Bilstein 5100s question

Perches need to be reused in some fashion, there's not a known available replacement perch to buy. I really don't think any of them are actually welded, I think some are a tighter fit than others due to age and corrosion. Your shocks will have a little install guide which lists the heights...

Bilstein 6112 front coilovers - anyone done or seen it?

Following up here for you, according to the last Q&A on this product page, they are still 500lb springs for the latest F150 kit: https://www.stage3motorsports.com/47-323841-21-22-f150-4wd-bilstein-6112-front-leveling-kit.html

Spacer Lift and Bilstein's - speed bump knocks

Not sure if you got this resolved yet but it's likely the UCA hitting the spring as mentioned. Freedom UCA's are okay and a good price, but I'm not convinced they provide additional clearance. The JBA Offroad arms are a better design and only ~$550. Those will definitely fix it.

    Brake Upgrade for 4th Gen

Hawk LTS pads and their HP520 fluid here, stock rotors for now. This combo works fantastic while towing and regular driving. Good bite, good pedal feel, lots of stopping power.

Has anyone measured the thickness of their rear spacers? I know the front geometry means a roughly 2:1 ratio between spacer thickness and lift height (meaning a 1.5" thick spacer lifts it about 3", give or take). Is that the same for the rear?

    When to replace brakes

Definitely one of the easier things to inspect yourself, and you can check out the outer pad without even pulling the wheels off. Often times the inner pads wear slightly quicker than the outer, so it's ideal to check both sides. If you're not able to remove the wheels, doing the outer check is...

Full Race Turbo + Manifold Upgrade Kit

Just read through a lot of that thread, very interesting. My experience with diesel performance trucks in the past showed me that many models regularly reach over 1200* EGT at the manifold when turned up to varying levels, so not sure why he (Full Race) said 1250 is the absolute max. Maybe "back...

F150 Bilstein 5100 vs ready lift on 4th gen expedition

I'm almost positive he meant oem, not OME unfortunately. Eibach appears to have the only drop in lift spring available for the F150/Expo, which would need to be ran with 2wd F150 or Expedition specific 5100s on the bottom ring of both, and would still be at least a 2" lift result. The Eibach...

Stuck on the side of the road with transmission leak, any suggestions?

Just read through the whole thread...all I can say is glad you're out of that thing. Like the poster above, I often times wish I didn't need the longer wheelbase. Heck, I probably don't really "need" it to be honest. A 200 series Land Cruiser is at the top of my list whenever I decide to move...

Full Race Turbo + Manifold Upgrade Kit

This will definitely be the highest flowing kit on the market. I'm curious if the BD manifold is reliable on these, I have a lot of experience with BD in the diesel world and their parts were always fantastic. I've been window shopping turbo/exhaust upgrades for the past year or so and have...

Bilstein 6112 front coilovers - anyone done or seen it?

You can't use bags on a 3rd or 4th Gen Expedition, it's a coilover rear strut. The front does a lot more than people think when towing, so you will absolutely notice if one end is softer. If that 14th Gen kit is 600lbs, then that could very well be a great option, if it's compatible.

Bilstein 6112 front coilovers - anyone done or seen it?

There was a member here with a 3rd Gen who ran the 6112 kit on his and said it felt great everywhere except while towing, simply "too soft". The springs Bilstein sends with the kit are 500lb and there are no off the shelf alternatives to them. They will fit fine however, just a bit softer than...
