    Vent for front differential

Criminal the way they are trying to stop the shade tree mechanic from even doing simple services.

I have cam phaser issue :(

I’m not a mechanic but how did the coolant get into the oil? Was it due to the repairs or is something else going on?

    Vent for front differential

This is true, but for the DIYer, it might the most affordable way get the job done. The milky color is also attributed to the initial grease Ford puts in the case during manufacturing. Why Ford didn’t put a drain plug on this is criminal. Same with being able to service the transmission and...

    Vent for front differential

That’s good info to have. I just watched this FordTechMakuloco video about service the front diff. Very informative and shows all the steps. Thought I’d post it here:

    Transmission Pan

But a gas tank leak won’t destroy your engine, you’ll just run out of gas. I have look for metal pan upgrades and as of yet have not found a cost effective or even compatible replacement. The aftermarket hasn’t caught up to the Gen 4 yet.

    Transmission Pan

I have the plastic oil pan and Tranny pan. No problems yet. I don’t think there is a straight metal pan update for either at this point but I could be wrong. I would be more interested in the ability to check transmission fluid from the engine bay, drain, and replace the tranny fluid if such an...

I have cam phaser issue :(

No cam phaser problems YET in my 2018 XLT but I don’t even have 19k on it yet. Warranty runs out in March 2021. Anyone know if there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue to extend warranty repairs?

    Autostopeliminator

I’ll suck up the $17.50 per year as a trade off for improving battery longevity and potential component longevity. I am also uncomfortable killing the engine in busy traffic whether I’m stopped or not.

    Rear Sway bar?

Take some photos or make a vid of the installation. I would be interested in seeing the process.

    Autostopeliminator

Turning auto start/stop off is free so I guess I don’t need to spend that $175 to replace that starter. To each their own, the more they complicate the plumbing the easier it is to clog the drain.

    Autostopeliminator

Simple answer...wear and tear on the starter, battery, and ignition systems. It also will turn off the A/C while it’s stopped at a light. It saves droplets of fuel per tank. Easier to turn it off and leave it off through FORScan than have to replace the starter and battery. They say they parts...

Display audio track on gauge cluster screen?

Select the compass to be displayed while you have an active nav route with Sync Navigation and turn by turn will be displayed in cluster. Mind you it’s not the full map, but the arrows will display left, right, forward, u-turn, etc.

How to tilt mirror in reverse video

I just set my memory 3 button to tilt the mirrors if I really need them to tilt down. I rarely if ever need to see the ground and side clearance.

    Oil level after turbo change.

I once had a loaner they tried to pin some damage on it on me. My photos quickly laid that to rest. It’s sad we have to go to these lengths but they see so many cars and are usually rushing that mistakes and damage may occur.

    Oil level after turbo change.

Now that I’m thinking of it a couple of interior photos in case something is amiss like a new tear or stain. Especially in the driver seat area, a forgotten screw driver in the back pocket, etc. I might start taking a overall photo of the engine bay too. I do all this right in front of the...

    Oil level after turbo change.

Every time I take my vehicle to the dealership for warranty service I do the following: 1. Write down the mileage 2. Take photos of each side of my vehicle, front, rear, left, right, top On picking it up: 3. Inspect for damage 4. Inspect the work has been done to my satisfaction 5. Check oil...

    4th gen common issues?

2018 XLT, The leather cover on the second row center seat has come undone from the bottom anchorS so that the leather hangs down in the front. I need to take it in because it never stays put when I reattached it.

Any deals yet due to coronavirus?

The deals won’t be showing up for another 60-90 days, you have to let the bleeding start to flow before they get eager to stem it and sell inventory at a price that is reasonable. There is still too much government stimulus money and people wanting to spend it on cars and TVs. Come July the...

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

If you have a warranty issue the hoses are quick disconnect, and the can removable. Throw the old hose on and take it in. However, why would there be an issue about improving engine reliability over the long term when you are trying to prevent GDI valve coking? While not as big an issue on the...

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

Once your done drilling the hole for the second bolt for the bracket, I drilled another hole for the wiring harness clip to go back into in front of the bracket. Makes it a clean looking install.

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

JLT sends the firewall mounting kit with with the 2018+ Expedition catch cans. Hopefully, this will change going forward as Vinny asked for me to confirm fitment. I sent him the same pics I posted here. If in doubt just order the F150 kit which will come with longer hoses.
