Add me to the list of people who have had the opportunity to enjoy limp mode after a 'powertrain malfunction' error. Mine was nice enough to occur on the interstate in the middle lane....going about 75....the error popped up and I basically lost almost all power and i just about got ran over...
My vote is to run away... my 2018 max xlt took a huge shit yesterday with a powertrain malfunction error at 9500 miles.. in the middle lane of the interstate .....and it immediately went into limp mode and it was all i could do to not get into an accident with a truck that would barely...
Another dealer oil change story, went in for the first free oil change at 5000 miles and that night I had a puddle of oil under my Expedition. Crawled under there and immediately saw that they did not tighten the oil filter tight enough...... :whymewhyme:... so I tightened it up myself and all...
I had to stay in the XLT's to get one without a sunroof. Found one on a dealer lot that was 13,000 of sticker, so that helped too. It is possible to special order a Limited without a sunroof, you most likely will not find one on a dealer lot without a sunroof. Platinum is not possible to get...
I have a 6 foot 6 son, and there was no way he was going to fit in the second row of a MAX with a sunroof ......so we had to find one without a sunroof. But there is indeed plenty of legroom for him in the second row with the seat all the way back
The ANC is expecting the subwoofer to be in a specific location in the vehicle in order to use it to cancel out the offending noises. If you put the subwoofer in a different location, it will definitely screw up the noise cancellation.
With most vehicles, you have to turn off ANC (usually by...
That's about the same deal I got on my 2018 when I bought it in March 2019. I paid right at $13,000 under sticker, and they gave me a very good trade in amount.
Then why does my fuel tank cover say 15% and below only (2018 expedition)?
From the manual:
Do not use:
Diesel fuel.
Fuels containing kerosene or paraffin.
Fuel containing more than 15% ethanol or E85 fuel.
Fuels containing methanol.
Fuels containing metallic-based additives, including...
Doesn't it concern anyone performing these upgrades that the fuel system is only designed for E15 or less? All the fuel lines, hoses, injectors are not designed to handle anything above E15....
From personal experience I can tell you what happens when you put E fuel through lines that aren't...
They are going to have to lower sticker prices to sell more vehicles. In this area there are a ton of the expedition sitting on the dealers lots, and they are not moving. Only reason I bought mine was that it was $13,000 off sticker price.
Also, the GM sales will recover later this year when...
That is exactly why I went with an XLT.....wanted the full length stationary running boards to keep the road salt/dirt/debris from being splashed up on the sides of my expedition. Power running boards definitely do not help in keeping the sides of your truck clean
When I bought my leftover 2018 XLT, with 202A, was a little over $13,000 off sticker. I feel sorry for the folks who paid full sticker last year at this time.....it definitely pays to wait a few months on first year models to get a better price. Sticker was 66,390, purchase was 53,340. And...
I would not have accepted delivery of the vehicle until this was fixed. There is no reason the dealer should not have this fixed before you signed papers......unless they have tried already to fix it and can't figure it out....and are hoping you will take it to a different dealer and let it be...
Order the whole panel. Had the same situation with a Hoover vacuum under warranty....had the bearing go out on the 15 cent belt guide for the roller brush , and hoover said they didn't have that part...so they sent a whole new bottom half of the vacuum......a $50 fix for a $.15 issue.....but...
The Tahoes/Suburban/Yukon's will always have much better resale than the Expeditions......Right now I just did a search for used 2018 Expedition Max's, and all are in the mid 40,000......that's a hell of a 1 year depreciation since these are started in the 70,000+ range
ITS A BOMB!!!!!!! RUN!!!!!! :uhoh2:
But actually since it is hooked up to the exhaust my guess is that it is probably a vibration damper, which helps keep the cabin quieter.....
