Shopping for a used 19/20 year Platinum. I like the look of the ceramic interors, but given our lifestyle of dogs and outdoor activities the wife feels it'll be a nightmare to keep clean. For those that own that interior what has been your experience? Hard to keep clean?
Sticking my toes back into the market for a lightly used Gen 4 Expy after sitting on the sidelines during the pandemic and watching the prices rise in used and new markets.
As I read these posts about the cam phasers, transmissions, etc it definitely gives me pause. Hard to validate a $60k...
I'm curious about ESP plans in Florida and if they have different prices among different dealers? Is there a set price in Florida? Anybody recommend a particular dealer in FL?
If only Ford would wise up and make a next generation Excursion. There are tons of people out there in the same situation, right at the limit who need just a bit more payload.
I noticed a huge difference when all the mods were said and done. I think it's a sum of all plus a really dialed in WDH. Everything got tightened up, less sway and effects of passing rigs. Almost all squat gone, depending on how many are on the trip. I think you are pretty close honestly, but...
That trailer is 30' long? Weird, seems smaller in the picture. What is your tongue weight? Bikes on front of camper isn't helping. I'd move them to the rear. Move things around, avoid heavy items in that front storage. Do you dry camp alot? Can you get buy with just one propane tank?
How often...
So my sister has a 2015 Limited Expy and she asks me what it would take to add HD tow to it. I was pretty sure Limited models came standard with HD tow and was sure I had seen a brake controller on her dash. I started digging around and asked her to send me pics of the capacity stickers. I noted...
No. If you have an HD tow package you can pull 9200lbs. But I wouldn't , but that's a different subject. Payload will be the enemy, not the tow rating.
Just did this 2 weeks ago. AC on/off, wiring harness super hot. Was told by my shop to replace both. Got a Motorcraft resistor, and a basic wiring plug off of Amazon.
So far so good, only thing that I would say that was not so straight forward was that one of the wires from the trucks end is a...
My guess is you need to transfer more weight to the front axle. Is the tongue weight of 760 your listed amount or what you see at the scale? Test it at the scale. Do 4 passes at the scale when loaded up for a trip. With WDH hooked up, with WDH unhooked, With trailer tires on one pad and tongue...
If it's the lower actuator, down by the floor board it's a very annoying job. You have to remove the center console, air ducting, and make cuts. The appropriate way to do this at a dealer is to remove the entire dashboard. There are alternative ways that are easier...
We're all in the same boat when it comes to travel trailers and our Expys. Expedition is a great SUV, but just shy of where it needs to be for towing or rather where we wish it was. Payload, payload, payload. If only Ford could come out with a Heavy Payload package on an Expy, one can only...
Took me a good year to dial mine in. Ultimately when I got to the CAT scale and realized I wasn't transfering enough weight onto the front axle was when it got dialed in. I'm using an Equalizer 10,000lb set up and have all the washers in the adjustments meaning I'm pushing as much as I can with...
The Expedition would fit the bill just fine with that payload. Just learn to use a CAT scale and take the time to dial in the weight dist hitch. Once you do that, you'll see how to pack the trailer just right keeping the majority of the cargo in the trailer not in the truck. But yeah, Expy would...
