Yes, very jealous! Please share any input as to how they’re going about getting reimbursed (maybe ask them after they’re done?). I’d really like to know what to tell my local dealer as they have been very kind but won’t push the boundaries or take any risks apparently.
Luckily I haven’t turned in my Acura MDX lease yet so the 9 days wasn’t too terrible.
I just texted my service tech at the dealer saying I have a 125k bumper to bumper and lifetime powertrain so it’s Fords problem if things really get bad. He said some dealers might fix the turbo rattle under...
Hey all, I told my dealer they didn’t fix the rattle with the VCT fix and he told me via text Ford says that rattle is normal for the wastegate!
Anyway to help here or is there any TSB for a potential fix for the expedition? I dont want to have to run around to other dealers yet.
Brutal.
Well if it makes you feel better I got the car back and although it wasn’t quite a completely cold start up, I still heard rattling so the VCT repair did nothing at all.
I don’t really have the patience to send it back for a week so I’m going to tell them they didn’t fix it and go back...
I’m tempted to do the front and rear bumpers to start. I have a white special edition, so black rims but not blacked out like the stealth. Seems like a no brainer to remove the pewter looking color bumper accents though.
In all fairness I called the day before and they then lost my appointment so I pretty much dropped the car off without them even knowing it was coming so very well might have taken an extra couple of days because of that.
Sounds like you’re a lucky one. I’m going on 8 days now for the VCt fix along with fixing a creaking sunshade. They were hoping the done today or tomorrow but as of late yesterday STILL waiting for a part, after 7 days...
I would just bring it to another dealer in a month or so and claim it’s gotten worse and specially ask for the spring replacement or whatever you think the solution would be.
Out of curiosity, is the spring replacement something you can do in a few minutes yourself or does it require removing...
10 hours would be great. Fairly confident my VCT fix will take a full M-F if not longer as they told me today they had to order parts. Wouldn’t be surprised if that 10hrs for me turned out to be 10 days!
From my dealer this morning regarding the rattling...
“Yes sir that have found an issue with the vct and having to replace the timing chain and components that go with it and then will have to retest.”
Hopefully this is the fix!
Sounds just like my recent post. CPO 2019 Special Edition, took possession and and within 10 days (today) I have it over at the dealer to fix the same rattle. We'll see what they end up fixing, they know the issue very well it seems but unsure of what their plan of attack will be. I guess I'll...
Brought my expedition in today for the rattle. The service advisor was very familiar with this issue but claimed it’s not very common (yea right). He warned me it might be a little while until I get it back but hopefully that means they actually fix it!
It’s mind boggling I believe you also need to get the High Country Tahoe or High Country Suburban to get all the safety features even in the new 2021!
I guess large SUV / truck buyers don’t care for that...
Thank you, “Lane Centering”! Most mid level to higher end cars redesigned in 2018 or later have this, especially at this price point.
Our 2018 Acura MDX redesigned in 2014 (I think) has this capability.
Perhaps you’ve hit the nail on the head with the hardware. The accuracy of the system...
Good to hear a similar story with a happy ending!
Its just a bummer though that I spent a lot of time finding a car that didn’t have mechanical issues and went CPO to get the Ford stamp of approval on the car only to most probably see my resale value fall since it’s perfect track record will...
I personally hope Ford invested more in to the autonomous driving experience and perhaps give a level 2 experience. The Expedition really lags here, lane keep doesn’t keep you centered enough in my opinion. Volvo, Honda, Cadillac, many other manufacturers have much better systems where you can...
Thank you for the info! I mentioned the waste gate when I scheduled the appt for Monday and the scheduler thought I was crazy for saying that with only 27k miles on my 2019 but apparently it’s not so crazy!
Pretty interesting that this car was a certified preowned and I get the car with this...
