May not be related but it looks like there are some gen2 3.5s that are experienceing roller follower failures... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YL5Q0MUW3FU
Wanted to update my research on swapping in a LSD into the Super 8.8 rear ends in the expedition. Talked it over with a performance shop that specializes in fords. The concern with the part number I listed above is that it has C-clips where the shop believes the expedition may use some sort of...
Sorry if I missed the post on the 4th gen section. I've got a reman from 2023 in my 2018 with a 2024 torque converter thats starting to act up again. I'm having it built by a performance shop in the next few weeks. I'm not going back to ford for another fight for a remaned unit...
If it’s cold they’ll idle very high (1,000-1,200 rpm) for awhile until the engine reaches a certain temp where it begins to drop the rpm’s down slowly. Once sufficiently warmed up it will idle around 750 rpm. The drone mine puts out during high idle is obnoxious and unpleasant.
My 2.7 ecoboost...
Physical key only gets you into the vehicle. You will need to place the fob into the slot inside the cup-holder. The actual blade key has no chip and is only for accessing the lock barrel under the drivers door handle. The Car has to sense the chip which is in the fob. With the fob in the slot...
Will need a 2023 ECM to make it work. The 2024 modules are locked down...
This screen shot is directly from Livernois' website for the 2024 expedition.
Yes at this point it would be best to flush all lines and trans cooler, if it’s optioned on your expedition. Then go back through the install process and replace anything that shows signs and f deformation and/excessive heat. Might be a good idea to replace the valve body as well as it may have...
If it's got a build date of 2022 or later you should be okay.
If you've got a way to bring it up to western PA, there's a shop close to me that rebuilds/bullet proofs these 10r80s. Guy is a ford master tech. Link below.

With all of my seats down, I was able to haul a set of 35"s to a buddy who had bought them out of state, near where I live. Had plenty of room. I'd look into a set of Nokian tires for snow use, Finnish company with a North American presence, they know snow...

I'd recommend posting in the 4th Gen section. Also If you do make a post in the 4th Gen section, please list out the dates when new updated parts became available for dealers to order when completing transmission overhauls. Many of us have had re manufactured units installed or rebuilds done...
Looks and feel are subjective...
Having been in a 2023 Suburban Premier for a week, I'd take the GM offering over the ford. I liked the way it handled, road imperfections were soaked up with very little fuss. It did feel a tad more jittery over cracked road surfaces but quickly composed...
Mine has a similar issue. Honestly at this point I’m letting it ride. It’s healthy, makes great power and torque… it’s got. 85,000 on it and a custom tune that makes it feel phenomenal. Every few months I take a look at the coolant reservoir and note the level, top it up if it’s at the low mark...
Have you programmed the new valve body to the TCM? Should be a tag on the valve body with a code that you'll need to program into the TCM. Can't tell from your write-up if you have completed this or not.
Not sure anyone has been able to unlock the PCM/TCM for the 2024s yet. I believe the 2023s are now tunable but it would be best to contact a tuner and check to see what model years are able to be tuned.
have to reset the adaptive learning via a scan tool like one from Autel or TOPDON or through Forscan a computer program that works like a scan tool. Will need a forscan approved dongle to connect to the OBD2 port and the computer, if you go the forscan route.

Wanted to close the loop on this issue. Shop replaced the relay and the fans began to work. As described above in my previous posts, the fans were coming on around 210 degrees... This was the factory set point for them turning on... ZFG had not lowered the set point for the fans to work with the...
I'm looking hard at them, if I do pull the trigger, it will be done before my October trip to Carova Beach, want it in place for my 10 mile trek on the beach to the vacation rental. Used a rental Suburban Premier this year (Expedition was in the shop getting cooling fans diagnosed for no...
Eaton came out with new limited slip differentials this year. They're pretty new, I'm not sure if anyone with an expedition has installed them yet. It looks like a few folks over on the F150 forums have gotten them installed and have given them good reviews. If anyone has installed them (front...
Do not remove or install plugs on a hot or cold soaked engine, ensure the engine is just warm before replacing the plugs. Torque to 133 lb.in (15Nm). Inspect the boots for dry rot and cracking, if they are still pliable they are good to be reused.
I’ve had three different ford vehicles with sync 3 and what you’re describing isn’t how they operate from the factory. They keep the last set volume level when restarted. It can be quite the jolt in the morning when you find you were rocking out at level 13 the night before…
There may be a way...
As of now, just the thermostat has been swapped out. It’s running the stock tune currently. I do have a tune from ZFG that I’ve run before that’s tuned for the 170 thermostat. Tune was taken out earlier this year when I had a torque converter replaced under warranty.
Thanks this is good to know.
I do have the tune file from Adam with ZFG. I haven’t reinstalled it since early this spring when I had a torque converter replaced under an extended transmission replacement warranty. I talk with the shop Monday as it sounds like there are definitely issues with...
New issues with my 2018 Expedition. After all the modifications and updates I installed I was finally satisfied with it. Heck even the clunking noise went away (still not sure how or why) and I thought I had my perfect SUV sorted… I was wrong.
