2002 Expedition to a 2010?

My first truck, age 17, changed pretty much everything oil wise, runs goods and everything. 260k miles. Wanted to strip everything of the chassis and put a newer body shape, interior, etc. Anyone ever done this? be cheaper then buying one brand new.
