Hi, I think that you may be referring to the 275/55-R17 vs the 265/70-R17 that I mentioned earlier. I should have been more specific. The 265/70-R17 tire has a diameter of about 31.5 inches and the 275/55-R17 although wider actually has a diameter of 29 inches. It is the diameter that...- garyl53

I agree with you. In 1st gear you will raise the RPMs and the chips will help more. I was actually referring to just cruising down the highway in 3rd gear. and then hitting a hill. My Expy will rapidly decelerate and shift to 2nd. At these RPMs (2000 rpm = about 35mph I think?) I am not sure...- garyl53

Hi, I also should have mentioned that I installed a transmission temperature guage and I think this is essential. I have, on occasion, seen temps reach 210 to 215. I think that it would be well worth the time and cost to install one. One of these days I plan on adding a larger tranny cooler...- garyl53

Hi, I live in Denver and tow in the Rockies all of the time. I tow a 29ft trailer at 5775 lbs loaded.
