Replacement Fog Light Bulbs Other Than Recommended Type

Here's how you trim the 60 watt 9005 bulb to make it fit a 42 watt 9145 socket. In this picture the little flange has already been trimmed. I highlighted the trimmed section in red. You can trim it with some side-cutters, snips, even fingernail clippers. The secret is to just take little nibbles...

Mistake in Owner's Manual: headlight aim

Here's a picture. This is the right headlight. The top of the picture is the right side of the truck. The front of the truck is to the left.

Long Time Reader in Iraq Wife needs help!

I hope the new alternator really fixed the problem, if not, have her take a look at the cables that come off of the battery terminals. There is a big cable that runs from the battery down to the alternator. The end of the cable is soldered into a big metal ring connector that is then bolted to...

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was thinking too. However, I've taken it back to the beach a couple of times recently, and I haven't noticed the smell at all. I'm still gonna get the transfer case and transmission fluid changed.

    Trasmission Smells Hot Under Load

I bought myself a 2004 Expedition a couple of months ago, and it has been running great. However, I've taken it to the beach twice in the past month, and I've noticed that when I'm driving in the sand the transmission starts to smell hot. I haven't pulled any trailers, so I don't know if it...

    rear end noise

This is almost certainly because of the limited slip rear differential. I've owned two Expeditions, a 99 and an 04. both of them had the problem. You can most likely fix it just by adding the friction modifier to the differential. You can get it at your Ford dealership for about $4 per bottle...
