I haven' t had an opportunity to drive a Ford with this technology, but I did test drive a Grand Cherokee that had it and I was annoyed by it. I was told on those cars it could be disabled in the settings permanently. Sounds like Ford needs to do the same thing.
I am curious how the towing a 7500lb trailer is with load leveling. I heard on some of the RV forums that is was not good for towing a heavy trailer like that. With a weight distribution system the back on my Expy didn't sag as much, but it was noticeable still.
In my case the issue came down to a bad connection in the wiring harness. Took my mechanic 12 hours to track it down as it was buried in the conduit. Mine was intermittent, but with a bad temp gauge cold starting was near impossible, A/C would not work, and engine power was much diminished. I...
Update--
My mechanic was finally able to track down the wiring problem and correct it. Thanks to Bedrck47 for all the helpful information. Without that it would have been much harder. It took several hours of tracing back the wire until finally finding where the wire had broken inside of the...
Just as am update to this thread I ended up sending my ECU to a company called SIA Electronics. They test and repair ECUs. In my case the ECU was not bad and they simply ran a diagnostic on it and tested the specific circuits related to the P Codes my car was throwing. I am so glad I did this...
Ok. I thought that since this was a request for wiring diagram it would make more sense to have a separate thread for the issue. Can I just delete the other thread or request a MOD to do it?
Thank you so much! I think this is what I need.
I am hoping that I can find the issue with the wire or replace it. My temp gauge started acting up with "temp gauge data error" intermittently so I replaced the CHT (what a PITA). Shortly after the gauge stopped working completely and now I am...
Hello,
I am troubleshooting a wiring issue with my temp sensor (CHT) sensor and need a wiring schematic to determine what wires are coming from the ECU to the sensor. Can anyone provide the diagram for my model/year? Mine has the CHT only sensor and not the sensor behind the alternator like...
Yeah my situation was that Hypertech needed a print out from the dealership stating what exact version software I was running so that they could update my handheld to make it compatible after the dealership updated the ECU on another warranty visit. The service manager was super cool about it...
thx onlyexilove. That is exactly what i was looking for. I have to see how cool the guys are at the local Ford dealership. in the past i have had luck with getting them to give me updates to the ecu at no charge.
I have been having problems with the engine temp gauge pegging and then showing an overheat condition. I had the temp sensor replaced which on my model is shared with the cylinder temp gauge and requires the intake manifold be removed. After changing the sensor things were fine for about 1 day...
This happened to me recently too. I assume ECT stands for engine coolant temperature sensor. I will search to see what is involved in changing that. Has anyone actually changed out the ECT and resolved this issue that way?

Not sure how you read my post to mean downsize the drivetrain. I only have a 2005 Expy with the towing package so I am coming from that perspective with the 4R75E tranny that is not known to be reliable and requires frequent maintenance to keep in running smooth. If the 6R80 is already beefy...

Bought mine new in 2004 when the first big gas price hikes were kicking in. The dealer had 100+ on the lot and couldn't sell them. I picked mine up for $31K out the door. Sticker price was close to $50K.
