Yes, driver's side does have the EGR bung. You can see it in the top right corner in the first pic.

    Exhaust parts

No, they didn't come with anything really. Just the headers and a pair of cheap gaskets (why I bought the V-R ones). Most likely Chinese made and I would guess 304. That said, I was fairly impressed with their build quality. Thick flanges and nice tig welds all around. I was able to find a...

I have sold my Expy and no longer need some of the parts I bought for it prior to selling. I will get some pictures up tonight (everything is brand new) but here are some quick descriptions: Flowmaster Super 40 series muffler. Part number 952548. 2.5" Offset in/offset out. $75 shipped...

    Ebay shorty headers?

I just got the dreaded PS manifold leak and need to have new cats welded on anyway, so I'm planning a full exhaust overhaul on my 98 5.4. I know they don't offer much (if any) performance benefit, but I figure if I'm going to replace the PS iron log manifold anyway a couple extra $$s for SS...

Back at it, new system starts this weekend

Sub'd. I'm just about to finally rip out the factory junk and put a budget system in my 98 so I'm interested to see this.

    285/70/17's....who's got 'em??

Stock. Like I mentioned above though, I think the 97-98s had taller body mounts from the factory. There is about a 1.5" gap between the frame and body.

These are nearly on the wear bars.

    285/70/17's....who's got 'em??

I'm running them on my 98EB on FX4 wheels. Didn't have to do anything until I installed the 2" wheel spacers, then I had to trim the lower bumper dam and running boards (which I need to just remove). I think the 97-98s have a slightly taller body mount so it sits a little taller than the later...

What did you do to your expedition today?

Haven't been on here for a while, but the x has sat since last September with terminal trans issues. I alllmost gave up on it, but decided I just have too much time/$$ already invested to let it go. So, today I shelled out 3gs for a transmission rebuild with 3yrs/unlimited mi warranty. It...

    98 Expedition Turbo build

He said it on the first page. Bennett, NC. Not too far from Asheboro. Very cool build, I've always wondered what a turbo expy would be like. I'm definitely

    Stock suspension rebuild a DIY?

Beyond hand tools you might also want to have a heat source (MAP gas) and sawzall (and lots of blades) around. When I did my front end I had to take it to the shop to remove one of the tie rods and he had to break out the acetylene torch. Rear CA arm bolts were rusted to the bushings so I had...

Shuddering and ruff idle and code P0133

Sounds like a good place to start. Also, are you sure the COPs are tight? I thought mine were since the bolts were tight but when I checked I noticed I could still move the COPs a little. I snugged them all down further and it helped one of my misfire issues.

    2001 Expedition Sunroof issue

Poll about 5.4l V8 and mileage

1998 145k. Bought it at 123k. Mostly just maintenance stuff (suspension/brakes/tires). Did have to replace the A/C and starter. Blew a plug out and fixed all of them as preventative. E40D sounds like its on the way out (slips a little and whines in reverse).

    Time-Serting 2V heads

Had a plug blow out a couple weeks ago so I decided to fix the problem for good and do all 8 inserts. Of course, the problem cylinder was #4 so once that was over the others were pretty much cake. I was considering doing a full DIY write-up, but after doing the procedure I don't want that...

    Please give your seat review

I only want to comment on the material choice. I say go with leather if you have kids (vinyl is even better). I had a cloth interior in my previous truck for the first bit of my sons life and cleaning up leather is 1000x easier.

Man, when I see thread titles like this I usually cringe when I see the outcome. This is surprisingly well done! Satin black is not easy to get right....I'm impressed.

Trailing Arms and track arm are rusted

Yes. I just lifted one side at a time. The axle did swing/twist away from the truck slightly when the LCA was removed. I don't think it will matter much if you do it your way, but you'll want something to be able to pull the axle back into location. I haven't replaced my UCAs yet, but...
