    5 Button Key Fob

The original on a Limited was a five button fob. I think we're on our 3rd set of fobs now that the vehicle has 222k miles.

    Interior work

That looks great. Do you have to pull the entire console apart or can you just pop the silver pieces off? Any specific brand of vinyl? I've been looking for a solution to this for a while.

Does anyone use Locking wheel lug bolts

Locking lug nuts will only slow an experienced thief down by about 10-20 seconds per wheel. They will use either a 12 point or round socket (hammered on) and bingo, the nut is loose. Take good pictures so the insurance company knows what you have/had.

    Replacement headlights

Good deal. All of the used ones I looked at had crazing or had missing mounting tabs or pins.

    Replacement headlights

I went with CAPA certified units from Rock Auto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1145223&cc=1433530&jsn=1002 What a huge difference.

    Urgent matter from potential buyer

We've owned both an Odyssey and still have an 07 Expy EL with 212K miles that we've since handed down. We call the Expy "the tank" because it's been pretty much bullet proof. My wife always felt the safest driving the Expy because of the sheer size. Minivans are designed around families with...

A defective A/C drier might be the issue.

    Maintenance on 2007 Exp EL

Check the heater hose on top of the right bank. They can leak (or split) and spew coolant into your spark plug holes ruining the coils. The radiator can also drip from the bottom corner on the passenger side so worth taking a look at. Any clunks in the front when you go over bumps? Probably...

    Anybody using one of these?

Never seen one either. Not sure I would use it on leather but what about the solution for the Bissell Little Green Machine (Professional Spot and Stain solution for Portable Cleaners)?

    power liftgate

You have two issues, the struts and the liftgate rod. The liftgate rod is what is causing the moaning and groaning, and good news, it's usually not the motor and much less expensive (~$150 instead of $500). You'll still need to replace the struts to get it to open and stay up. Here are...

    Liftgate Opens Halfway then Closes

I replaced the struts with non-OEM parts on my wife's 07 and they failed within a few months. I replaced with another set which has lasted almost a year now. In retrospect I should have gone with OEM parts.

Which plugs does a 2012 have?

Are there any problems with the 2012 spark plugs getting stuck or breaking? Looking at one with 62K miles and I doubt the plugs have been changed. I think time is the bigger enemy here.

Musty Oily Smell coming into cabin

Let me know what you find. My wife's 07 Limited 4WD w/202K started doing the same thing last week under all conditions.

Been there, done that. Just replace the rad.

2007 Expedition, Review and what to look for

Not sure about that. My wife's 07 is sitting at ~198K. We've done the normal tires, brakes, coils, plugs and fluid changes and it's been pretty dependable. We did replace the AC Compressor (spent the 1st 77K miles in Florida) along with the AC/Heat control board, the radiator around 130K...

2007 Expedition, Review and what to look for

I would echo the spark plug change since they can be tough to remove. The radiators can leak at the front right. The top heater hose on the passenger side can crack and leak antifreeze into the plug holes causing the coils to rust and require replacement. I would recommend a PPI to check the...

    Heads up

It's not the only video or tutorial out there on removing wheel locks without the key. Just google it, or go to your local Discount Tire or other tire store and ask them how they remove wheel locks without a key. I had a lock go bad and my Discount treated it like no big deal.

    Heads up

It will slow a thief down by about 30 seconds per wheel but it won't stop them. All you need is a 12 point 19mm socket and a hammer. Hammer the socket on and then unscrew it with a breaker bar.

    Liftgate

Did you try a reset on it? Disco the battery for 20 seconds, reconnect it, see if it works. My wife's stopped working recently which turned out to be a bad strut along with a not so great lift rod.

    My Salesman Called today...

Just got an email from Best Car Buying Deals and at the top of the "Best End of Year Car Deals" is the 2017 Expedition with a discount of $13800. I don't see anything on the Navigator so they must be selling without discounting. http://www.realcartips.com/news/0772-end-of-year-deals.shtml

Store bought Self Fuel Cleaners or Service Department Fuel Cleaning?

Looks like rebuild kits run about $20. Has anyone replaced their injectors with aftermarket parts? Curious if they worked well, and if so, did they last?

Store bought Self Fuel Cleaners or Service Department Fuel Cleaning?

Need to do this on my wife's 07. Least expensive options I can find are reman's for $17.75 each (ebay), or new $28.78 each on Amazon. Didn't realize how easy these are to replace until now (watched a youtube video).
