    Short answer is NO. The sub assemblies are majorly different and unless you're a good metal work nothing will "bolt on" to the first gen from a newer model. My 99 and 06 are different in almost every way when it comes to body work.

    That is correct, it is A4WD. Are you certain on the fact they ditched the solenoids? Ford provided me parts noted specifically for the 99 model year. If they were "deleted," what system replaced them? I'm chasing a gremlin through my vacuum system.

    Crawl underneath it and count of the transmission oil pan has 14 or 20 bolts keeping the pan to the transmission.
