I was in similar situation last month with a new to me 09 Exp with 147k miles. My personal mechanic refused so I took it to Ford where they were against a flush but I specified I wanted a pan drop, fluid drain (partial) and new filter. When I got receipt it looked like they charged me for a...
I hear and smell an exhaust leak underneath the cabin and was wondering if anyone tried an aftermarket cat back exhaust and how was the sound and any performance changes?
I only found Gibson that makes a system for this truck and also saw they had headers so also curious about those.
I wonder if the OP is comparing two different criteria. Saying the Durango isn’t up to towing his trailer because of rear suspension sag is a measure of rear suspension capacity to “carry” the tongue weight.
The discussion of rear ratios I thought pertain to the capability to “pull” the...
I recently got a 2009 Expedition Eddie Bauer with 147k miles that has the rear air suspension I love when towing trailers. I occasionally get the Check Air Suspension light on dash and occasionally hear the air pump run under the hood so I believe there are some worn components and possibly...
I subscribed to this thread because I have the same issues...intermittent rough idle when engine at operating temperature. It will go away with rpms over 1000rpm and if I rev engine a few times over 2000rpm it can go away at idle. This on a recently bought 2009 Expedition EB with 147k miles. If...
It’s my 3rd one I’m learning on each one.
Yeah they got their issues but I love the Expedition/Navigator platform and when running right they are strong and efficient engine lol
I am looking at the 4109-36 kit that includes drilled and slotted rotors, pads and painted calipers for an upgrade to my stock and old brakes that slightly pull to the right. Anyone have experience with this brand?
I think certain years had fuse box issues because of leaks in front windshield that let water in that made it way to fuse box. IIRC I had to had dealership replace on my my Navigator for same reason.
Ford Tech Makuloco from YouTube (aka BSG Automotive) references this kit from Amazon that is $600. And if you look under the similar models there's another "updated" kit for $595 both from Ford dealerships...
Found this video on YouTube and see this is a common issue. I ordered part today should put it in this weekend to see if it cures my issue.

The suspension seems to be working okay. The pump comes on occasionally but not for long and I can feel the rear suspension rise or adjust. Today was the coldest day thus far at -4 and it was only on for a short burst after I started the truck.
For the rough idle if I let it idle a long time...
I recently got a 2009 Expedition Eddie Bauer with 147K and the climate control worked as it should for a few days. Today I noticed that I can not turn it off. When I hit the off button the AUTO button light will go off but the fan keeps blowing until I shut off engine and on restart it will be...
When I was going to do my Navigator awhile back I ordered a complete kit from this place. They have complete kits both including OEM or aftermarket or a hybrid mix.

I have owned a few Explorers/Mountaineers V8 from the 5.0l to 4.6l 2v to the 4.6l and loved them for their versatility in haulng my family of 5 and occasionally towing my 26' boat. When I got a travel trailer and kids got bigger I got a Navigator both a 2004 model and a 2007 which handled the...
Interesting he recommended reusing the old fluid with additive. I normally hear fresh fluid to replace what was drained is fine.
Glad this thread is open. My Expy is coming up on 150,000 miles. It has no shifting issues, but I'm preoccupied that service was never done on the transmission.
A...
Well you have won the Easter Egg contest!!!!
I would have never figured that one out I am glad you posted.
I wouldn't even think that is something covered in the Owner's Manual I guess I need to even look to see if it has one.
You ought to see me driving trying to adjust the temperature with 2...
I'm not new to Navigators having owned a few in the past but it took me almost a year to realize that when I change the temp of the HVAC with the primary (driver's side) temp control that it only controls that side temp. One day I was driving and noticed I had heat coming out my side but cold...
Mine was so seized on a Navi I just got I could not move the arm with the rear glass open. After liberal use of penetrant I got it to move with resistance. Unfortunately it already took out the motor so ended up taking it to Ford who replaced the motor and the wiper arm assembly and now it works...
