Update..spraying white lithium grease on the steering shaft joints definitely helped. I think that's my problem. Should be ok for now but going to have to replace that steering shaft at some point. Anyone done this and how hard of a job? Part price doesn't look bad just wondering if I should do...
I currently have the steering shaft u joint soaking in white lithium grease to see if thays the culprit. Have to work tonight so I'll see if there's a difference driving it then
2014 with 150k I've noticed over the past week my steering feels like the power steering is starting to fail. The steering feels a bit sticky and doesn't return back to straight as easy. Fluid level is fine. No leaks. Temp here in ct has dropped into the 20s/30s this past week and admittedly I...
Replaced my linkage about a year ago. Wiper motor was fine and still is. Definitely watch some videos was a bit tricky getting the new linkage lined up and it's a tight squeeze getting it in and out. If your wiper motor is running fine I wouldn't touch it.
I have 2014 limited 5.4. 150k While doing an oil change today I noticed I'm getting close to muffler time. I'd like a little more muscle car sound...I had a 2000 expy with a gibson cat back that sounded great awhile back so im considering that but noticing the price on those are insane (like...
It ended up being the rear control arm not being tightened. I had a shop do the work (struts and spacers) they didn't tighten the control arm correctly. They fixed it no charge of course. Was weird because I crawled all over the suspension and didn't see or feel anything loose or out of place...
130k haven't 100% diagnosed but has the typical groaning noise. It's going in for ac service next week so I was going to have it diagnosed properly while there. Just thinking ahead since I'd do the bearings myself. Would be nice if that's not problem
It's time for new front wheel bearings. What's everyone using? I've always used Timken or Moog but damn the prices have spiked. Centric or Motorcraft any good? These trucks are heavy so I want good quality. Anyone have a lead to decent prices
Ugh..getting warm here in CT finally and my AC isn't working at all. Compressor not kicking on, fuse is fine. Refrigerant was low and I had a can and added it. Still nothing. Anything else I should look for before making a appointment with my local shop? Hoping I'm overlooking something and...
Drove it to work today and rides the same as it did without the spacers. I'm sure it puts a little more pressure on the wheel bearings but other than that no difference in ride quality. Even on the highway
Picture doesn't do it justice but I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. Supreme suspension 2.5 lift with KYB struts with the stock springs. Cooper AT3s and now with Supreme Suspension 1.5 wheel spacers...puts my stock rims right where they should be. These trucks are beautiful stock but I...
That looks great! I think that would look great on my truck. I'm going to look into the Supreme suspension ones since I'm happy with the leveling kit I have from them
Thinking my truck might look nicer with my wheels spaced a little. I have a 2.5 leveling kit from supreme suspension that worked out well. Was thinking of possibly adding their wheel spacers. Any pros and cons? How hard are they on the wheel bearings?
There is no need to remove the hood (at least on my 2014) remove the cowl cover then close the hood and there's nothing in the way. The thing is still a bit of a pain to get out and back in but the hood is no problem
Seems to be the issue. New one from Motorcraft on the way 36 bucks on amazon. I'll post results after install. When I wiggle the connector the blower turns on and off. The connector is HOT as hell.
Starting to get chilly here in the northeast. The past few days I've noticed my heater fan working sometimes and sometimes not. Got to get this figured out before it really gets cold. Where should I start?
Spc camber nuts? Haven't heard of that. Does that help with the alignment after the leveling kit? My 2014 with 2.5" gets wobbly at times. I'm taking it in for another alignment to see if we can get it riding better. I wonder if that's something I should look into?
Insurance gave me 1500 estimate. Minus the 500 deductible. Pretty accurate to what I priced things at. I replaced the tail light already. Deciding if I can live with the crack in bumper and bumper filler.....probably not so will probably have a local shop paint some new ones and I'll install...
Yup...priced out the bumper, bumper filler, tail light...and I'm around 500 in parts. Plus having it painted to match. Labor wise doesn't look bad to fix myself. I'm in the fence of just replacing tail light and fixing rest down the road or not...or...insurance claim and fix...or..insurance...
Came out of doctors office today and got into truck and drove home. Got out and went to get something out of the back of truck and noticed I got hit in the rear bumper/tail light. Of course nobody left a note or anything. Have a claim going with my insurance already but I have a $500...
I recently put on KYB with a 2.5 inch leveling kit from supreme suspension. I had billstiens on backorder for almost a year and caved into the kyb...was told they are an American company but my struts are clearly marked made in China. They are decent though. I used the stock springs. The struts...
i do have to hide the white wire leads though haha...noticing them more now in the picture. Also the Ford logo was like 11 bucks on Amazon and fit perfect. A few different colors to choose from
