I saw the video and he got me started in the right direction. Here's a little insight from my experience.
Started out with lifting my truck with a 3ton Harbor Freight floor jack working on the driver's side. Just like he said, you will have to use blocks to get enough lift to get the mounts...
I went from Goodyear Eagle LT to Dueler Aleza Plus I think. LOL. The 80,000 mile set. They are stiffer than the Goodyears, but still have a good ride. The only issue I've come across, is that I don't use my Expedition as a daily driver. Using it on the weekends and the occasional road trip...
When I replaced the head unit in my 07, everything was modules. The steering wheel controller is mediocre at best. I got a Kenwood head unit. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes you're trying to switch songs and it changes to the A/V setting.
On a side note, I paid extra for my head unit...
To be honest, I'm taking a "GUIDED' stab in the dark. It's not throwing any codes, but what I'm seeing is from a dead stop it will pull hard up to 80-90 mph'ish. If I'm already cruising around 70 and floor it, you can feel it bog down. It will down shift and struggle to gain speed.
I know...
That's awesome. My 07 is at 95,000. Nothing big in the way of repairs. This weekend I'm planning on replacing the body mounts (not looking forward to this job at all.) Next project after that will be to start replacing the catalytic converters.
Wondering if anyone has changed out their body mounts themselves? Four of the eight need replacing, so I figure I'll knock them all out in one shot.
I find it weird that I can only find Doorman mounts. No polyurethane kits at all.
I'm hoping that someone has already done theirs and will be...
Going through the same with my 07. Front and rear are worn and the two in the center are GOA. I find Doorman on Advanced Auto and Rock Auto with a price range from $30-50. I've been searching for a poly kit where I can replace them all at the same time.
Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue.
I have a 2007 Limited. 5.4 with 3.31 rear end. I first noticed problems accelerating when pulling out into traffic. My Expedition would downshift, pull around 4000 RPM's and struggle to gain momentum. I changed my sparkplugs (keeping...
Thank you Jeff! I had given up on fixing this mirror for now and after reading this gave it another shot. I had to manually move the mirror and re-calibrate it. After doing this a few times I lined it up correctly and now they're both working properly.
Thanks again,
Chris
I've tried this several times. For me it has worked to re-engage the fold mechanism, but would still unfold past the center point and stop with the mirror facing forward. Fortunately for me it's my driver side and I can stop it in the center point.
My driver side folds correctly, but when folding the mirrors back out, the driver side will go past center and won't stop on its own until it's facing forward. I manually stop it and the center point and it stays.
My 07 Limited with he 3.31 rear end does great when taking a drive to the keys. Most of the trip is between 55-60, with few traffic lights. Computer showed 23.4mpg as my best average. However, I didn't do the math myself to check the accuracy.
Now to add another twist, I found someone selling the same chrome rims that are on my truck now for $200. I would rather get the FX4 rims and change the looks of my truck, but I'm thinking that I might be able to pick these up switch out the damaged wheel and then sell them to a used rim shop...
I'm looking to keep in the $500 range, which makes it difficult. Especially since I'm trying to stay with 20s. I just bought a new set of Dullers and want to put them on the new rims I get. Seems like anything priced in the 400-500 range goes extremely quick and the used rim shops want $300...
I appreciate all of this information. I was looking at the same rims that were listed as 2015 and although I like the look, I wouldn't of had enough stones to start messing with my rear axle.
Now just to find a set at a decent price.
Thanks again
A few years ago I bent a rim on my 07 Limited. Wasn't really noticeable and didn't affect the ride. That was until I got new tires. With the new tires I'm getting a lot of wobble around 70-80. I'm looking at a set of rims from a 2015 F150. I think I remember someone on the forum with the...
To me it seems to have a GM influence. Kinda Cadillacish. I don't think it's a bad looking vehicle. My biggest turnoff with it is the rotary knob shifter... not a fan.
If you change the plugs yourself, make sure that you have a decent torque wrench and tighten all the plug to 25 foot pounds. When we did mine.. we just made them snug with the thoughts of less likely to break plugs next time and tightening them into an aluminum block. With that being said, I...
You nailed it! The plug broke, but the electrode was somewhat holding it together. It was a pain in the butt... but we got it done. Not a pretty sound when a few pieces of porcelain find their way into the cylinder. Hate doing a tune-up in this manner, but have to research and decide what...
