I didn't have a check engine light either. Talked to the dealer here and he had the same problem on his crown vic and he changed the crack sensor and problem solved. I changed mine and same result. Hope this helps
Check your crankshaft sensor and cam sensor to make sure they are working properly. My 03 would act up at times and changed a few parts and it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor.
It Dropped to around 40-42lbs when I was doing the test. Didn't leave it on overnight. Just the pressure guage for about 2hrs or so was it. Hope this helps.
I had a simular issue with my 2003 EB. Had fuel pressure to 50lbs when turned on. Kept on not starting at times. It happened most frequently when it would set 8-12 hours overnight. Changed out IAC valve still didn't fix it. Once I got it started it would start just fine until it sat for a length...
You might check the plugs and make sure they are tightened to specs. If it sounds like a light exhaust leak I would check the plugs like I suggested. Just a thought.
