My engine has the same symptoms as yours. Cold starts it sounds great! No knock or tick. when it's at operating temperature it will knock at idle. once I get my trk above 1000 rpm it goes away.

I'm sure this question has come up but I'm about to purchase a timing chain kit. Would it be possible to delete the phasers all together? Just replace them with the 5.4L Cam gears and a tune? the closest I've seen to this idea are the "lockouts." Sorry in advance if this has been discussed...
