The rattle you hear on start up is the hydraulic timing chain tensioners. The seal start to go bad and bleed off pressure, it's just like starting up after a oil change. The lack of power is your cam phasers locked in full advance, that's why you don't have power until the upper end of your...
The best brakes I ever put on my expedition.
I had these on my 99 Eddie Bauer and now they are on my 07 el limited. No more warped rotors on either and the ceramic pads don't dust up the wheels.
Well when I bought it, it had been a stolen recovery. It just had the 17" "spare" steel wheels all the way around. Had the 22's in storage, had to do it.
I've had them both and I prefer the Husky Liners. Weather Techs were ok, but I don't care for the little hole for the hook, it kept leaking melted snow and soiling the carpet.
I just spent $1600 on new plugs and coils (three of them broke) and right side cat w/ o2 sensor. Runs great now. Same symptoms as you describe.

Well I pull different size trailers and I can tell there's a significant difference in stoping between the oem brakes and a good set of performance brakes. I had power stops on my 99 expedition and I have them on my 07. Believe me, I know the importance of great brakes, I drive a 145000# 6 axle...
Power Stop pad and rotor kit. Rotors are drilled and slotted so you don't get the heat in them that warps them (especially the rears) and you get the ceramic pads. 10000 miles on my 2007 el and the wheels still look new.

My 2007 xlt el was doing the exact same thing. One day it was pi$$ing me off so I just floored from a dead stop and it started to sputter and jerk all the way to 70 mph. After doing that a couple of times it finally threw a misfire code for no 4 and no 6 cylinders. New plugs and accel coils and...
You may want to check out a Power Stop brake kit. My 07 xlt el had a horrible shake when braking (typical warped rear rotors) and it had a loud squeal. The kit comes with crossed drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads both front and rear. Now you can do a very smooth and quiet panic stop...
Mine does the same thing. Changed the oil filter (different brands) and that didn't fix it. I've read things on the cam phasers and the vct solenoids, even read stuff on chain tensioners causing this noise. I just would like know what is exactly causing this so I can fix once. Man I just hate...
