Thank you for the reply. Hood up tomorrow. If you promise not to laugh I'll tell you my first guess. As an old guy (78) I jumped at the thought it had to be a timing issue which quickly led to chain/phaser fears. I did dismiss that because it is so erratic. thanks again.- FORDSNUT

Remote start for 2008
I just purchased a 2008 Expedition that came with factory remote start. I did not get a remote fob with the car but have one from a Ford kit I never used. Instructions call out a reset button. Where is it on a 2008 Expedition? It is not on the bottom of the dash. thanks- FORDSNUT

Bingo! Success. It indeed needs the speed sensor signal wire hooked up. Works like a charm. This has been a good learning experience. I could have opted for a generic off-the-shelf brand and spent less. But this taught me a bunch and now turns out to be fun. Thanks for all the help.- FORDSNUT

OK, I am at a dead end. Everything is working up to the point where the unit says 'please proceed'. When I start moving the screen does not change. I guess what I am looking for is how to change where the unit thinks it is. I have tried re-setting home and that does not work but it is able to locate things around me such as airports, etc.- FORDSNUT
