    Need wiring location at computer

A quick update... The vent solenoid itself is, in my mind, is no longer suspect. The adapter I used to connect the hand vacuum pump was a bit, shall I say, hard. I've owned it a number of years. I acquired a new one and it held vacuum quite well. It may not have hurt that I also blew out the...

    Need wiring location at computer

The issue continues... First. While the page provided above is GREAT information, the highlight pin is incorrect. I am posting the same page with corrected callouts. For my issue, I have confirmed continuity from the fuse box, through the solenoid, and back to Pin 36 of the connector below...

    Need wiring location at computer

Hamfisted, You are a GOD-send! This is exactly what I was hoping to get. MrSticker, I thank you for your reply as well. I may not need the download, yet. I've already stripped back past the first "knuckle" in the loom and found nothing. I wanted to test right at the connector and prove the...

    Need wiring location at computer

Mr. Sticker, I thank you for the info. I signed up for SCRIBD. While I can find the document, it neither opens or downloads. It liked the paypal though. As to the additional graphic, I am already there. That is how I know that I am missing the signal from the computer. I guess to be clear about...

    Need wiring location at computer

2003 Expedition. Getting P0446. I have power at the EVAP vent solenoid. I am not getting the computer drive signal. If someone could supply a pin and connector position, I am just going to run a new wire around it. If I can get at least which connector, I can find the color coded wire. I just...

2003 Expy 5.4L - No start by ignition - Can start by jumpering relay in Distribution Block

It is the same theory. Spark plug coils use it to their advantage to fire the plugs. So far, all is fine. I now have to figure out a fix for the AC/Heat and Blend door actuators. The darn gears are made cheaply.

2003 Expy 5.4L - No start by ignition - Can start by jumpering relay in Distribution Block

TobyU, A quenching diode is another name for the diode that prevents the coil in the relay from releasing its AC voltage back into the circuit. This AC voltage is produced as the relay coil collapses when the DC voltage is removed. The original Ford relays have a resistor installed that performs...

2003 Expy 5.4L - No start by ignition - Can start by jumpering relay in Distribution Block

I tested the starter relay circuit with my homemade test light. Instead of driving a relay when I turn the key, it drives my test light. Essentially, it is an LED with a series resistor and long test leads. In addition, there are connectors to allow adding a resistor across the LED and its...

2003 Expy 5.4L - No start by ignition - Can start by jumpering relay in Distribution Block

3 years after having another Distribution Block issue (https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/power-distribution-relay-issue.26809/), I have a new issue. In late September, my daughter was using this vehicle at college (her car broke down and she borrowed this vehicle while I had her car, so I...

    Power Distribution Relay Issue

Hey, you did good! I used a bunch of old fuse box circuit expanders that were reformed and able to be used on the old glass fuses (picture attached.) We used to use them to add stereos back in the day when extra circuits were not available. (I apologize for not replying promptly. Life threw me...

    Power Distribution Relay Issue

I still have work to do! I need to find out nominal, minimum and maximum current draws for the downstream legs so I can determine if there was more to causing the issue in the first place. The attached picture shows the descriptions of the circuits that load this relay. Does anyone know...

    Power Distribution Relay Issue

Pulling the block proved to be much easier than I anticipated. One 10mm nut and one 11mm nut and the rest were snaps or snap in connectors. The block, as a whole, is also extremely light. I took pictures along the way to show the fuse size placement, etc. Then, I took all of the fuses and...

    Power Distribution Relay Issue

To be honest, I do not know the amp rating of this relay. In fact, I also do not know the rating of the original OEM relay either. I am technical and I do understand the importance. AutoZone provided the replacements (all 3 of them) and there is an assumption that since that is what their system...

    Power Distribution Relay Issue

I am in need of the schematic for the power distribution block for a 2003 Expedition. The relay labeled as R203, and called the PCM Relay, has now been replaced 3 times. Pin 5 of the relay is melting the plastic of the relay. It has been taking SIX to EIGHT MONTHS months to show any symptoms. I...
