    Trouble with towing. Need advice

Well anfter having the Expedition inspected, I was told one of the rear shocks was leaking and that the rest were worn out. I will be installing Rancho quicklifts first then adjusting the bars to to distribute more weight to the front axle. I will let you guys know how that goes.

    Rancho Quick-lifts questions

I don’t know how many kinds of Rancho shocks there are but the ones I got have adjustable damping. I am under the impression that I can drive around with a softer ride and adjust them when I tow. Are they still bouncy with the soft settings?

    Rancho Quick-lifts questions

Hello there everyone. I am getting ready to install new shocks on my 2012 Expedition El soon. Mine does not have factory air suspension to worry about, I am just replacing worn out shocks. I have never replaced these on a car before but I have done other maintenance work on my cars. Is there...

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

Hello everyone. I was finally able to take it to the cat scale. I did measure from the ground to the top of the wheel wells and I realized that my Expedition is a little squatted before having any weight on it. The measurements for the Expedition empty are Front Driver: 36 1/8”. Front Pass. 36...

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

Thanks, everyone that is some good information! I need to take the camper and find some level ground. I will report back with the numbers. I am considering changing out the shocks/struts with the Rancho Quicklifts. First they are already assembled and they seem to offer different levels of...

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

Visually, I can tell it does squat a bit but I will have to check exactly how much later. My driveway is pretty level but it does have a small incline to keep rain out of the garage. Do you think thats “flat” enough or should I take it somewhere else?

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

Thanks, I will have to look into learning how to make some of those adjustments for myself. The length of the trailer seems ok to me. The Equilizer hitch has sway control built into it along with weight distribution. The sway control must work fine since I haven’t really felt it move on the...

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

I do have intentions to take it to take it to a scale here soon. Maybe I will do that after loading it up for camping to get an accurate weight. I agree with you on the dry weight and towing empty but it does let me know where the start of the weight is. I guess I can take it back and have them...

    Trouble with towing. Need advice

Hello there everyone. We recently upgraded from a pop up camper to a travel trailer in the late fall. Today I was able to take it on the road again and the drive was a bit unpleasant. I can’t really complain about power or sway with the trailer but there was something i did not like. The ride...

    Why an Expedition?

Hello ExplorerTom, I too seem to prefer Ford over GM since I owned a Town Car many years ago. The 4.6l v8 proved it's reliability to me over the years and that's one of the reasons that drew my attention to the Expedition with a bigger version of that engine. I too appreciate that it's based on...

    Why an Expedition?

Hello everyone. I would like to hear some of your experiences and first off, why did you choose an Expedition over an F150 or a suburban etc. I would like to see what advantages helped in making your decision and what do you use it for mostly.

WARNING: 3rd Gen Revised Front Brakes

I too just did my brakes on all four wheels with ebc rotors and pads. I didn't see any difference between the inside and outside pads. It's been a few hundred miles and the brakes feel better than ever.
