So I just got the same codes on my 2004 Eddie Bauer 5.4 4wd that has 225,000 on it. We got the p0128 code and the p0171 code a few weeks ago and my husband changed out the thermostat and the check engine light didn't go out so I had it cleared. It came back on today and I had it scanned again...
Ok, front wheel noise solved, it was a brake caliper clip that was rubbing on the wheel. Changed out the clip and all is good. The other noise, no idea.
Thanks for the response. My husband has changed the brakes several times on this car so I doubt he did anything different than what he has done before. I have had the IWE problem a few years ago so I did check that and that is not it. The noise is loudest when driving slowly, but no other...
Brakes and rotors changed and the noise is still there. Now I have a noise that started coming from the front right wheel. It makes one noise when going forward then in reverse it makes a quieter noise, so I think I have two different things going on?
I have a 2004 4wd Expedition with 215,000 miles on it. We just replaced the front brakes and rotors a week or so ago and today I noticed that there is a noise coming from the front right wheel when driving, then when reversing it makes quieter noise. Other than that it drives fine. Any...
That is the only symptom. It does not pull to a side at all. It is only when breaking not accelerating. I think the alignment is good. Thanks for the suggestion.
My husband ending up drilling through the bushing and putting a bolt in it. It works good a new! We got the full replacement linkage but it is not a heavy duty as the original so we are sticking with this fix for now!
My 2004 Eddie Bauer Edition has started making a clunking noise intermittently in the front when braking to a stop. Nothing else seems strange no noises any other times. Looking for some suggestions as to what to investigate. Thank you!
So I'm in need of some advice. I have an 04 Expy with 214,000 miles on it. My passenger windshield wiper just stopped in the middle of wiping. The driver one is working thank goodness, but not sure what to investigate. Please help.
I got the code C1998 Module Calibration Failure. The guy at AutoZone scanned it and cleared what codes where there which is what caused the flashing. I went to Oreillys and they scanned it and got this code. From the reading I have done it looks like it can be reset with the ForScan software...
I have a 2004 Eddie Bauer edition with 210,000 miles on it. We had the brake booster go out and after replacing it the traction control light went on. The light was not on prior to the replacement. We got a second part and I had Auto Zone scan the car to see if we could turn off the light...
Update: We have been busy so we hadn't had time to do anything with the bad sensor. So my husband just tried removing the old one from the old brake booster and could not figure out how to get it out. I took the core to auto zone and they couldn't get it out either, so we couldn't try...
Where is the sensor located? What does it look like? I don't have a code scanner. How do you scan from a laptop? I was planning on taking it to AutoZone to have them take care of it since it is their part that doesn't work correctly. Will we have to uninstall and reinstall it?
Ok so we got the booster and my husband got it changed out tonight. It was the Duralast from Auto Zone for the Electronic Stability Control. However, now the car says check Advance Trac. How do we make this go away and why is it giving that error?
Thanks. I am wondering if it could be the hose. If I grab the accordion like boot next to the firewall the hissing stops. The brake pedal tests are all good. No pedal problems. So does that seem like the booster or just the hose.
I have a 2004 Eddie Bauer edition. It just started this hissing sound when you let off the brake. It is driving fine. We do need to replace the rotors on the front but otherwise it is driving fine. I saw something about it possibly being a brake booster? Any guidance would be great.
