There have several good ideas given on this post to make the job easier.#1 Engine cold. #2 pull the hoses out of the way and secure..#3. I used a plug wire pliers to remove coil. I totally agree with Bredrick47 on both issues in this gone wild post. It appears andOr is strong of opinion and weak on information. I was working in a Ford dealership when the 4.6 & 5.4 came out in 1997.I did electrical, AC ,and EEC, this included tune up work. As Bedrck47 said coils do go...- Jerry 2

Battery light on!!!
I like what stamp11127 just posted. I remembered, an alternator has to have an energized feed when ign. is turned on. If it does not have this so called trigger, it will not charge. With key on check for voltage at the alternator. If my memory is correct the wire is green w/ yellow stripe. If...- Jerry 2

First, check your alternator output. Even if it is new. The next thing I would check, would be possible draw on the battery. Check amperage draw, not voltage draw. If you have a 2 ,or 3 or more amp draw, you have enough draw to run your battery down. If you have a draw start to eliminate the...- Jerry 2
