    Turned out to not be the trans or filter at all this time. Even the mechanic at the shop thought it was the same noise as before. The idler pulley and tensioner pulley bearings were shot and sending a whining noise throughout the drivetrain.

    Check the new fuse to make sure it didn't blow the instant you put it in. The simple fact it was blown in the first place points towards what black said above, a short somewhere in the wiring.

    Yes, sorry, I mis-spoke, I meant the even cyl8 side is opposite the hose that always leaks at the T connector but the odd Cyl3 was right near the leak. I'll do some testing on the cops when it warms up a little outside.

    Turns out it was faulty battery, it was strong enough to start the car with the key, but something in the remote sequence saw too much of a voltage drop and would trigger the alarm. Strangest thing I've come across in a long time.

    The wipers will do that if you have rain sensing wipers, just turn them off auto and they won't wipe once on start (at least that's how my daughter's fusion of the same year works).
