I have run my tires at max pressure for over 30 years. Don’t listen to the kids at Discount tire regurgitating information from a training handbook. I have circled the US in many types of vehicles in every weather condition and my job sites are often war zones and mud holes for topography...
Expy stock brakes are just ok. I’ve had much better braking on my 2015 T-350. My 2013 Explorer Sport was horrible in brake handling. I had a 1998 and 2003 E-350 with v-10’s that performed very well breaking with load from high speeds as well.
I tow and travel all over the US with my family so...
And highly recommend brake upgrade minimum rotors and HD pads as the oversized tires affect the braking considerably. I have Ford recommended Stoptech cryos and use Hawk reds up front and yellows in rear. Night and day braking performance less upgrading to a 4 or 6 piston with a larger rotor...
You can view my posts for pics and more information of my offset but Ilm running these on stock suspension w/o issues and I tow.
285/60/20 ...it's posted...which is a 33.46" diameter and 3/8" wider than stock
V8 and diesel options coming to expy in future...be patient. A little birdy told me so on the inside...v8 will make appearance in Raptor and f150 first. I was told this well over a year ago and well before the 7.0 announcements.
Everybody wants the sound/feel of a v8. The 3.5 TT is a great...
I have been towing a loaded down 14’ trailer for a few years now. I’ve been to all corners of the U.S. 4 times over and am just shy of 60k miles. First with the Transit 350 which towed it like a dream but I hated the vehicle so I traded it for the 2016 Expedition EL because I needed 4x4 and...
Ok swap done. After now driving on the Toyo Open Country A/Tii Extreme's for 400 miles then to the C/T's here's my impression.
The C/T's are:
1. a few decibels quieter but still louder than the Hankooks which gives it more of a "truck" feel which I don't mind.
2. smoother and slightly more...
I haven't done a lift and not sure I will yet but King shocks is the way to go from my research...not a spacer. I spoke with several of the top lift companies and was directed to King shocks to custom build one offs...will run 1000-1500$ per shock. This is what I'll do when I decide if I'm...

I just stuffed 285/60/20's on my 16 w/o any issues.
Issue I have with the Expedition is its 1/2 ton suspension and brake setup.
I've owned 2 E-350's w/ v-10's and the new T-350 ecoboost and these issues we're nonexistent. I wanted a 4x4 SUV to travel with because I have 2 children as well.
The power is plenty for the towing but under...
Ok so great news guys. I just had my Expedition serviced and got on this topic with the Ford tech. He told me several things they were already "informed on the inside".
1. The 2018 Platinum will have 450 hp.
2. The 2019 Expeditions are going to offer 4 motor options. 3.5 ecoboost, 5.0...
Will trade in my 16 exp for the 18. The Lincoln is trying too hard and it comes across ostentatious to say the least. If the Platinum Expedition doesn't have 450 hp to match the Lincoln it will be annoying and I'll have to do a turbo upgrade so I can smash on them. Regardless I feel the 18...
I am running the stock Hankook Dynapro AT Mud/Snow rubber 275/55/R20s. The rims I picked up at Discount/Americas tire and the only difference is the offset which I'm not sure off hand what it is but here's the line item numbers off my invoice:
48709 NRM 20x9 6-135.00 25 BKMTXX. They did say I...
I talked with several top lift shops including skyjack and readylift. I first was looking to see if ready lift would custom make me a rear set because I'm not interested in leveling my ride as I tow a lot and it sits level when I tow...that's the reason it's 1" higher in back...assuming you're...
To an average or inexperienced ear most newer stereos sound "good". For the discerning individuals who have had or listened to high end equipment there is no comparison. Many people simply do not care enough to delve in to high end sound...to others who have spent 5-10k+$ on auto stereos are...
