Check your tcc solenoid pack had similar problem on my 02 would not change to last gear until tranny got hot. An Expedition... What a fitting name! Pro help?
Sounds like your torque converter has gone bad after such a long post it's only thing you didn't check and with power loss and shudder I would have tested that one sooner- Skinnylarry

Did I get a good deal?

Post intake manifold swap issues-Help please
Has mechanic check the water tube that run under the manifold these have a problem with breaking off the little nipple and leak under the manifold this would allow for air and loss of fluids- Skinnylarry

Coolant dripping off frame on the rear of the truck.
Your problem is your intake manifold and it's leaking in the location where the heater hose connects to the manifold .
