I went with the 5100's - which provide adjustable height. I am not currently towing anything but hated the stock suspension. It will definitely raise the back end - even at stock setting. I ended up adding a 2" front lift kit as I set the front at stock also. While I could go back and adjust the...
I have a 2017 Limited 4WD and bought new 5100 Bilsteins. I was watching a few youtube video's on installation and seemed straight forward. When I got into the front wheel the struts were not the 2017 set up but the newer version 2018. The mounting bolts on the bottom are different - 2 coming up...
I found a build by Mount Zion Off Road of a 2017 Expedition and they added Bilstein 5100's and SPC upper control arms. These are adjustable and apparently help with alignment. Anyone installed these on their Expedition? I sent them a note to get their reasoning for adding them.
Here is the...
I just purchased the 5100's for my 17. I saw a build on Mount Zion Off Road of a 2017 build with Bilstein 5100's and also SPC upper control arms. I'm curious about the addition of the upper control arms. I sent them a note on their build to get their reasoning. Will let you know what I find.
The vehicle: 2017 Ford Expedition Limited 4WD. Purchased 1 year ago. 80K miles.
Background: I am retired (age 70). I am bored. I need a project. I just retired from motorcycles after 35 years of riding due to failing eye sight. Off-road, on road, racing, cross country, etc. Basically everything...
I have been thinking about the same thing. I see you went with the tow version. I was thinking about the sport version as I really don't do any towing. Not sure what the difference is between the two. I'll try and find out
I would guess yes. I haven't tried to match anything other than the wheel but they seem similar colors. I have a similar grill color as well as side mirror covers.
I was looking for touch up paint for my 2017 Expedition wheels - which are the dark grey. No luck on forum and no luck at dealer - they said Ford does not make a touch up paint for wheels. I went to Auto Zone and found Dupli-Color Perfect Match in "Magnetic" that matches the wheel color. It is...
I am experiencing same problem with my 2017. Bilsteins are on my list. I had front end alignement and just got my Hellwig rear sway bar that I need to install. Hopefully this will settle the suspension
I had the alignment checked and it was out of alignment in the front - both wheels. Not sure that really changed anything I could notice in terms of ride. They did an inspection of the suspension and did not see any leaks.
I just ordered the Hellwig rear sway bar. I'll see how that works.
I've searched through the threads and could not find anything on the paint code for my 2017 wheels - they are the dark grey metallic. I have some rash I want to touch up. I saw Magnetic Metallic as a color for the body and wonder if this is the same color. I am looking for a touch up pen or...
I just picked up a 2017 Expedition Limited and I am having some really wonky suspension issues. It has 82K miles and in pristine condition.
I first noticed that it really wallowed over bumps, meaning it was like a trampoline in terms of the bounce. Then after going over some rough pavement on...
When I switched wheels on my 2010 they did not come with the tire pressure monitors so I have a constant fault message. I can hit reset to make message go away but tire pressure warning light stays on. Any way to override this?
Decision time on my 2010 expedition with 140k. Has served me well for last 5 years. Has a few issues - broken manifold bolts - but in fairly good shape. Retired so plan on using it as traveling vehicle for summer. However, on fence whether to sell and buy newer version or keep. If I keep, what...
