Drop fuel tank using tie downs?

@BoolFighta Thank you for your reply. Did you replace the fuel pump with a Motorcraft or something else? I"m leaning towards a Delphi from Rockauto. It is $50 more than the cheapest from 1A Auto and $100 less than Motorcraft. I'm less than impressed with the OEM dying at 110K.

Drop fuel tank using tie downs?

2016 4x4 XLT with a dead fuel pump. Crank no start, all fuses are good. It is parked on our drive way which is at a steep angle. Tank is 2/3 full which likely means a 170 lb tank with fuel moving around. I've tried siphoning out the gas with tubing as small as 1/8" but I just can't get it...

Can't figure out!!! Still Baffled by growl when first moving forward

I didn't know a limited slip was an option. I have a 2016 Expy 4WD that likes to growl. Hope to sell it and the popup trailer soon and get a Subaru. Hotel/motel stays now vs camping when younger.

    Unknown leaks and smell

Plenty of YouTube videos out there will walk you through checking the connection under the overflow as well as the dreaded turbo coolant line leak. Buy a black light and crawl under the Expy and shine the light around to find the leaking areas. My 2016 leaks at the driver's side turbo however...

2016 XLT - No Transmission cooler before road trip in 100* heat

@Trainmaster I installed a transmission cooler on our Honda Odyssey however the need for a specialized tool kept me from attempting it on the Expy. That and I couldn't find a step by step walk-thru so I had our mechanic do it.

2016 XLT - No Transmission cooler before road trip in 100* heat

We have the same year and model. Added the tranny cooler after pulling heavy tent trailer and seeing temps as high as 238. That took place while towing when it was over 100 degrees. Since having the tranny cooler installed - never higher than 212. Usually "205-210".

    Oil filter drain

I will give it a try. What's the worst that can happen-oil spills.

    Oil filter drain

I like the concept however it is a struggle to fit my arm up to where the filter is located in order to remove it. Not sure how I'd go about squeezing the wrench or ratchet to loosen the filter while holding the cut oil bottle. I also can't juggle so it could just be me.

Are you mechanically inclined at all? Plug with new boots, oil change, are pretty straightforward.

    Drivers Side Turbo Failing?

It has been 5 days since your post - anymore oil leakage? After getting the threads stripped in the oil pan on a previous vehicle-I change the oil myself on the Expy and my Scion. As for a code-not that I know of. You'd likely get a low oil error.

    Oil filter drain

I have a dedicated 'oil change' shirt and shorts that I use when changing the Expy's oil.

I need some help, Codes coming up

Pull the red tab on the coil wire and then make sure to push down on the tab. If you're me then a hot glue gun works to hold the red tab in place after you've broken off the top gray tab I was supposed to have pushed down on. Do the plugs while you're at it.

Best place to Buy Motorcraft Plugs/Boots

I bot Motorcraft plugs and boots from Tasca. In the last week however I noticed Rockauto also carries Motorcraft plugs and boots at better prices. Tasca is also slow to ship. Not a big deal if you have time but Rockauto has the items in stock and ships immediately.

Spark plugs and coil packs 2017

$7.53 per boot from Tasca. $6.29 Motorcraft from RockAuto. I just replaced my spark plugs and coil boots - using only Motorcraft. It's just not worth the trouble for me to save $19 with something replaced every 100,000 miles.

    Tranny fluid change advice needed

Answer is no. I suggest watching Fordtauloco's videos: https://youtu.be/VRDSQCklCHI If you're going down there and spending the time pumping out the oil...might as well change the filter. Supposed to be done between 100,000-150,000 depending on easy driving or towing...

I finished! Plugs were black with carbon. It idled very smoothly and I had fun zipping along until a Prius crawled in front of me. This is the wife's car whereas mine has 293,000 and hit 0-60 in 11 seconds when new. Now to try and get motivated to change the transmission filter.

Okay that's embarrassing. 3rd plug is uh still in there. Maybe not drinking a beer while working on the Expy is the problem.

2015 Limited EL Fan on high problem

I watched "The Internets" Youtube video and came away confused. At 15 seconds he says the cooling fans have been running on high however in the comments KCVision asks if replacing the pressure switch solved the problem with fans running on high...to which he replies...he never had the fans...

2015 Limited EL Fan on high problem

Check your coolant tank-could be low. My 2016 has a leak at the very common turbo coolant line on the driver's side. When it gets low the loud secondary fan runs all the time.
