    What’s with this dumb trend?

Here's my two cents: Car manufacturers have a hard time with tech, and it is in theirs and our best interest to integrate. Why? Because if done right, it can be darn useful to have information that the manufacturer can put in those systems that otherwise would not work without building it into...

The Expedition is listed in 2018's Longest Lasting Vehicle List

A lot of people don't maintain their cars. No maintenance=in the junk yard. A lot of us on this forum do maintain - in fact, I would say most of us are here because at one time we where looking something up to fix our vehicles to keep it going. I have an '03 and the engine/transmission is just...

Found out the hard way about my Expy's field of view...

I will say that the front end of these Expeditions are built like a tank. I hit a car in front of me getting blinded by the big ball of light one moring going about 15mph, and just got a few scratches I could buff out and a crack in the grill. Also a bent tow hook (or whatever it is called) but...

So the check engine light started blinking...

I would still take it to the shop. I thought the same thing, and it ended up being a bad COP. As always, get a good diagnostic before shotgunning parts - it'll save you time and money.

    Backfire and then all good

Yeah, don't shotgun parts. Unless you can see it needs replacing, you may just be replacing a good part otherwise. I second checking the fuse, could be an easy fix.

    Crank, no start.

I will say that I have not figured out this problem, but never consistent enough for me to figure out where the problem is. Now that I know where to look, I will check this out as well. Some good information! Also, I notice that it happens when it is warm outside more, but happened one lone time...

    Expedition is Back

I can see a PCM update, but not upgrade. Maybe they meant update? Those things are useful in keeping your vehicle running well as they make adjustments to the computer and how it handles everything the vehicle does.

    Cheap tire deflators?

Along these lines, as im sure you may had this happen, is how do you temporarily turn off the TPMS alarm. I know the tires are really low... I made them that way on purpose :-) it would be nice if i can figure that out without having to go a weekend at the beach with the constant nagging from my...

Lean codes bank 1 and 2

As for the fuel pressure, on the passanger side bank's fuel rail, there is a schrader valve to put a fuel pressure gauge on. Look up the fuel pressure for the engine you have. I have a 5.4, so getting closer to 30psi and lower is starting to show that it was going bad for me. Also, it didn't...

Lean codes bank 1 and 2

Don't be afraid to test and re-test. I have those two codes, and all smoke tests came back without a leak, and for a while so did the fuel pressure test. After a while, something will start to show. Don't just shotgun parts - I have learned that while I did replace some hoses that where...

    Fuel pump recommendations

I finally got a good diagnostics on my lean condition, and after a good mechanic took a look, it is definitely the fuel pump starting to go out that is causing my CEL. Want to get a decent one that will last just as long as the one I had, but not as expensive as the Motorcraft fuel pump I have...

    3rd Gen FORscan Modifications

Perhaps you should check out the TPMS? If they are giving faults, they may need to be serviced or replaced. Why disable something because it's broke? That just calls for trouble when you get a flat and don't know it. TPMS has helped me in many occasions.

This sucks, whoever moved this move it back

I didn't know where it was before. Having it on the front page seems like a more prominent place for people to find it who may have never known about it before. Sometimes it makes sense to move the cheese.

Sea foam? Anyone had any luck?

I have an 03 EB, and used the spray Seafoam in my engine. Worked well for me. Definitely need two people to do it per instructions. One to spray the Seafoam in through the engine, and one to keep the RPM's up to get it through the engine. Also, I used an OBD II reader while doing it, so I can...

    Spark Plugs, no more BS

I am about to change the gasket to the intake manifold to see if I can get rid of my lean condition once and for all. I have read that is a great time to change out the plugs/coils, being you actually have to remove everything to get to it. There is a great video available of someone showing...

    P0171 P0174 all conditions

And since I had to look at the notes I took, it was around 38psi, not going any lower then 35.

    P0171 P0174 all conditions

It is the fuel pressure reading, yes. I figured as much, but just put that out there. I am sure the fuel pressure being normal (albeit closer to the bottom end, but not enough that it goes too low under load) is saying that is not the problem.

    P0171 P0174 all conditions

Hello, I know I have read a few posts here and in the F150 forums that give lots of detailed information on these codes. However, I just can't get past them, and was seeing if I can get any help. Here are some of the things I have done to start off with: Cleaned MAF (and replaced) Changed PCV...
