In the market for 2020-2022 and I have a question...

Welcome to the Ford Expedition forum! I moved your thread to the 4th Gen General Discussion section where it might get more attention from people with direct experience. I had a 2015 XLT (3rd gen) with 4A and 4H. I live in central Indiana where we get snow, but may not have as many hills as...

I was looking at a white 2024 Limited Stealth Performance, but dragged my feet to long and the dealer sold it. Ended up with a Dark Matter one instead. I still like white, though.

5.4 triton vs the 3.5 Ecoboost?

I guess I'll pile on. Bought a used 2002 Expedition with the 5.4 with about 30k miles on it. Solid engine. No issues that I can recall. Average MPG 13.267. Sold it at around 125k miles. Then a 2011 F-150 with the Coyote 5.0. Another solid engine. Squirrels chewed through injector wires. Other...

Are the threads galling? Would a little dab of anti-seize on the threads help?

    2022 Platinum MAX

I was looking for those wheels, then I found these. They were from a 2022 F-150 XLT Lariat. No rear axle shaft modification was required to install the center caps.

just bought 2017 exp with 94K changed oil and trans fluid what else should I do ?

You can look up recalls on the NHTSA website: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls Less horsepower, much less torque, slightly worse fuel economy. I had a 2011 F-150 with the Coyote V8. Nice engine. But after two Expeditions with the 3.5 Ecoboost, I don't think I'd go back to a V8. And, I say that...

    New Owner 2022 Timberline

I will probably go with this mount, https://theantennafarm.com/shop-by-categories/antennas-mounts/mobile-antenna-mounts/vehicle-specific-mounts/1045-vehicle-specific-brackets/8094-ford-f150-f550-2015-20-ford-expedition-2018-19-detail, or the one for the right side. I park inside my garage and a...

    New Owner 2022 Timberline

Commercial? Ham radio? GMRS? CB? I've had my 2024 Limited for a year and still scratching my head about where to put radios. What do you plan to do for antennas?

    Intro

I put about 100k miles on a 2015 XLT. It was mostly trouble-free. The drivers door window motor failed at around 40k, had to replace spark plugs at around 70k, and one of the O2 sensors failed at around 90k. The O2 sensor situation was a learning experience. CEL illuminated so I checked codes...

Nice. But, I'm guessing that photo wasn't taken in Indiana. ;)

    2024 Ford Expediton New Tires

About a month ago, I replaced the General Grabber H/T tires in size 285/45R22 that came on my Limited 304A with a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2 tires (the official name from Michelin's website) in size 275/55R20. I had the new tires installed on a set of 20" F-150 FX4 take-off wheels that I...

22-24 Steering Softened? anybody? Forscan setting?

Anything I can help with remotely since I have a 2024 Limited 304A?

22-24 Steering Softened? anybody? Forscan setting?

In my mind, Electronic Limited Slip Differential, like my 2024 Limited has, and Electronic Locking Differential, like the 2025 Tremor has, are two different things. Ford's wording is clear to me.

    First generation XLT

Welcome to the forum! When I sold my 1st gen, a 2002 SSV with about 125k miles, the rear fender lips were rusted through and the rocker panel in the driver's door area was well on its way. It was a casualty of driving on Indiana roads in the winter.

    '23-'24 Questions...Looking to buy

From the 2024 Order Guide, here's what is included with HD Towing on a Limited: Note that HD Towing includes the 3.73 Non-Limited-Slip rear axle. ControlTrac with the eLSD 3.73 rear axle is a separate option.

    How to Validate Axle Ratio/Type?

From the 2022 U.S. Order Guide for the XL, XLT, Limited (including Stealth Performance Edition), King Ranch, and Platinum model: Note that HD Towing includes the 3.73 Non-Limited-Slip Rear Axle, but HD Towing and Control Trac with eLSD are separate options. The eLSD is not included with HD...

    How to Validate Axle Ratio/Type?

My Expedition is a 2024 Limited. 304A, 3.73 eLSD, HD Tow. They were all separate items, with prices, on my window sticker. The eLSD was not included with HD Towing. My axle code is 3L.

    4th Gen FORScan spreadsheet???

Works fine on my 2024 Limited. The only time I get asked about those sensors is after a software download.
  21. bb37

    How to Validate Axle Ratio/Type?

Do you have a button that looks like this just below the transmission shift knob? If so, that's the eLSD on/off switch.

    4th Gen FORScan spreadsheet???

You should be able to disable that feature. This is from the 2024 manual and it does work on my Expedition:

    Deep Snow Dash Warnings

I was driving in a heavy rain storm last summer when I was informed that lane keeping and adaptive cruise control were no longer available due to a sensor problem. I assumed that the heavy sheets of rain on parts of the windshield that were untouched by the wipers was the culprit. Rain stopped...

Wow! 22-23 years old and low mileage! The tires may have some dry rot. Take a good look as the side walls especially near the bead.
