I had a similiar issue with my '03 when i got it. i did a DIY smoke test with a cigar and some 3/8 tubing and found i had a bad vac leak around my resonator, somewhere I would have never thought to check otherwise. Replacing the tubing that held that on solved a lot of those problems
Sorry, that my second gen 2003. I got those housings thru an Amazon warehouse deal for less than 1/2 price ( i paid $86 they were returns that were never installed)

I remember someone saying pull up the drivers side front door sill plate and see if the purple wires have come loose from the connection. I forget if i read that here or somewhere else but it was recent
That's exactly why it's unlikely that both sides failed simultaneously. When one of my calipers goes bad, I replace them both since they get the same amount of cycles. Again it's possible that both actuators failed, but it's easy enough to narrow that down with some very basic troubleshooting...
Check fuse 8 should be a 30A on yours ( assuming it's same as mine) but I think that should work ALL doors, so if some are working I doubt it's that
if that's good check the switches in the doors? The drivers side operates both doors. The passenger side just does that side. It's obvious to...
Not sure if it's because I have different options, but in my '03 XLT there was an empty rubber plug on the drivers side firewall. It's pretty big and is the PERFECT place to bring in wires. If you open the hood and look on the drivers side, toward the center you should see it. Just pull that...
I have a total of 3 of these USB outlets on this truck. 1 shows voltage, the others just have a single LED. They are all always on, because the circuit is always hot. To be honest I've never really paid attention to the voltage reading after a couple weeks of it sitting, but it's always...
Yea, lighter is easy to take out. if you are talking about the dash one you just need to pop up the plastic "tray" in the bottom of the tray in front of it, and use a 7mm socket to remove one bolt. then open your console lid, grab the area between the cup holders and console and pull it up...
It actually goes down a little when you plug something in, even your phone.
on a related note: A lot of people worry about these on a constant hot outlet, as the guage is lit all the time, but it uses so little power it doesn't matter. my truck is not a daily driver and sits weeks at a time...
I don't think you can tighten those. They just kind of snap into place. I have replaced all except the passenger side front one with dedicated USB sockets. It's easy and so much better
if you have the factory ashtray up front that one can be a slight pain, but it's still relatively easy ...
Used these in 9005 and 9006 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N01QCVM?tag=viglink23361-20
This is my first time with projectors so I don't have much to compare to as far as cutoffs, other than I can tell you that no one has flashed me yet while running the lows thinking I had the highs on
thanks Bob, these sound like similiar wheels to what you had. I think I'm going to leave my 17's on. I like being able to air down and get a wide footprint when the weather has been dry and sand is extra soft
Putting this out there for anyone who might be considering upgrading their 2nd gen headlights:
Been hating my stock headlights for a while. Even though they are pretty clear they always seemed dim when driving in truly dark places. Decided to do an LED bulb upgrade and my head started...
So I was bored today so took a ride to my favorite local pick-n-pull. There was an'06 Navi there with (IMO) ugly 18" OEM wheels (ok, they weren't horrible, just really shiny ) with newish tires. My 2003 Expy has 17" stock wheels and decent tires. It's a beach vehicle mainly, so I'm not...
