How about using Zinc Chromate primer (if it's still available...it's pretty toxic). I had a 1971 Porsche that used it on some panels and wheels and had no issues. My 2013 Expy has edge of hood and rear hatch starting to bubble like the pictures.
park the Expy in a large field and call an A10 strike...problem solved. Then call Bob at State Farm and tell him somethin' happened when you were on a nature hike.
you can use a polish (not a heavy compound) and either a random orbital or rotary polisher to remove scratches. Then a non-staining wax like Meguiar's #26 to finish them. I do this to BMW's all the time.
my 13 Expy is used to haul multiple K9's for contract work (explosive detection). Plenty big for 2 Shepherds (with attitude) plus all the gear for work and food. Great vehicle for my needs.
You could use a light compound on a rotary polisher (Menzerna make an excellent product) but be careful with that machine as it's easy to burn through the clear coat. A wool pad followed by a foam pad for polishing will get rid of the swirl marks that wool makes.
I've used a sealant on all my...
I've used a commercial steam cleaner when I detailed cars. The steam doesn't get the headliner wet but pulls out stains. You might try a detail shop and ask. It only takes a few minutes to do for small areas. It takes longer for the entire liner (such as removing tobacco smell)
I run premium and do a lot of interstate driving hauling working K-9's to sites. Seems to give a skosh more MPG.
Anyone remember Sunoco 260? Used to run that great stuff in a Dodge van with a 440...whew
I like the Gunner products. Have the Large and will probably get the small for the Springers. We are planning a trip to northern Montana next summer to get another Springer pup and start imprinting odors.
I work an explosive detection dog under Fed contract in this stuff....both of us get cold but we do have a warm-up building. KC is supposed to be in the minus next week. I see they are looking for dog handlers on the atoll of Kwajalein in the south pacific....might go there even though the...
Great site! Traded my 06 Expedition for a 2013 and like the upgrade. I travel with 1 or 2 K9's that are explosive detection dogs. Typically use a Gunner Kennel to transport (excellent kennel) and have 2 Springer Spaniels and a Malinois for work.
