Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too that it was faulty from the beginning. I am religious about keeping it clean in the winter. I found two other expeditions at work like mine and they appear to be sealed better and the rockers are in good shape.
I have a recall appointment in two weeks and I’m...
2017 EL with 62k miles. No rust anywhere - and i was underneath the other day and found the rear of my rockers rotted through.
I do live in Wisconsin so salty winters - but i am always diligent about washing often with an underbody flush.
They appear to have rotted from the inside-out...
OEM fobs, and it's done this pretty much since i've had the vehicle (2nd owner bought in 2018). Only aftermarket electronics is i hard wired a dash cam into the fuse box to pull power.
i haven't had the trailer wiring message, but won't hurt to take a look at that connector.
I have a 2017 Limited with the push button start. I have severe issues with the range of the key fob. Starting with a fresh battery (in either of the two fobs i have), here are my symptoms:
- With key in my coat pocket, truck will not start and says "no key detected" until i remove fob from...
I spoke to the guys at running board warehouse, and they said their offering isn't compatible with vehicles with power running boards. Obviously i would remove the power boards first.
He stated that the mounting bracketry they provide wouldn't work. Sounded like the mounting points on the...
Anyone use these?

Or other aftermarket version? Looking to remove problematic power running boards. Like the aluminum aspect of these as I’m in the rust belt.

My 17 as well. My guess is that the ratio difference between 2 and 3 is larger such that If it shifts at a low rpm the torque converter slips for a bit so it doesn’t lug the engine. When you are on the gas more it shifts at a higher rpm thus not requiring the delayed lockup.

I sometimes think I’m the only person that uses auto mode religiously. I rarely find myself overriding it to be comfortable.
Every other persons car I get into that has an auto mode doesn’t use it. It’s always way too hot/cold and they are always messing with or.
Just an observation I...
Haha there you go! :)
I did it for the cosmetic difference as the stock setup was truly an engineering afterthought.

Update on sound/noise difference after this mod. I cannot tell any difference inside the truck (at least from the drivers seat). It does have a slight rumble at idle that I can hear from the outside as others have mentioned.

Did mine this morning. Waiting for the hanger to come in the mail and I’ll wrap it up.
An elbow with a 60 degree bend would be better than the 45 imo, but they are hard to find.

Just installed the weathertech set for my 17 EL. No drilling and dead simple. Remove two screws, hold up mudflap and replace screws.
