Yeah, not sure why these have so many parts that you can't get separately. The newer models have show individual parts.
Junkyards are still asking hefty prices for these and new is just crazy. It seems that I just need to get lucky on eBay
I think I used a combination of a cutting wheel and grinding attachment, but don't remember if I used the flexible attachment. I think I used some small files too. It's tight, but not impossible. Definitely easier with the glove box door removed.
Couple question:
1) So you swapped the resistor for the heatsink-looking thing and spliced the wires coming out of it as @TXFRDOwner and I were theorizing to get blower control? Right? Any surprises there?
2) What's this plenum thing, though, why do you cut it, and what relay were you fitting...
