Who plays CD's anymore? :)
Once you see that video, you'll realize how easy it is to pull the radio. Just get yourself a set of those plastic trim tools.
My 2008 had the basic stock radio/CD player when I bought it (used). Ended up finding the upgraded version with GPS on EBay for ~$125...
I had coils packs go bad on my 2008 (140K). One thing I learned when replacing spark plugs a couple years ago, Ford changed the plug style from the dreaded (prone to snapping) 2 pc to 1 pc plug sometime during 2008. Turns out some models have the old, others the new. Fortunately mine had the...
Agree with this 100%.
Check exhaust manifold bolts. They are known for rusting and popping off. Results in bad seal between manifold and head.
Everyone instantly piles on the rockers and phasers. That's what I was thinking too!
I had the same condition on my 2008 w/135K. Further inspection...
Any updates on the OP's issue?
I'm experiencing similar noise on my '08 w/135K.
I had both front bearings replaced thinking that was the problem -- wrong!!!
My mechanic thinks front diff, possibly pinion gear.
I'm in the same position (2008 as well). In fact I just "upgraded" my radio with a handsome used NAV unit from E-Bay :). Works great, but the screen and Nav features have that "stuck in 2008" look and feel. No update will help that, unless you drop the money for an entirely new set-up (as...
Thanks for the pointers.
I ordered one from Amazon. Will be here tomorrow. Quick install and then we'll see!
Makes no sense to me why Ford didn't use the SIRIUS/XM antenna feed. I also wonder how effective the after market antennas are mounted UNDER the dash. Doesn't seem logical to do...
Recognized your name and need some help.
I just reached out on another thread regarding GPS antennas. Please take a look and shoot me a response.
Thanks!!!
J07,
What antenna did you buy and from where? I just did the same thing for my '08. Easy drop in replacement. I am seeing everything you and others have mentioned....no NAV, can't set clock or calendar. In fact, my calendar stops at 2014.
Does the NAV antenna plug into the small red plug...
Great info, as always on this site. You folks are tremendously helpful!!!
Unfortunately I found this thread several days late!!! Recently purchased new plugs via web-site (will not name) and it did not differentiate between the two types of plugs. As my luck would be, I received the wrong...
I would like to replace two obscure parts that I haven't been able to find on the internet. Would rather not go to dealer if possible.
#1: Garment hook screwed into roof (interior). The hook we use to hang dry cleaning on :-). Not really sure what to call this thing, but every vehicle has...
Common problem and complaint reported on this forum.
I just replaced mine with fixed boards. Was tired of cleaning/lubing and "helping" the passenger side.
Nice idea to makes things cleaner and easier.
But....does anyone have any tips on removing the oil filter without making a huge mess? The 5.4L on my 2008 has a nice "drip pan" under the filter, but it's useless. I spend more time cleaning that mess than changing the actual oil.
