I can't seem to find the right tool for wedging the timing on my 4.6L. i don't want to have to do the timing again. Anyone know where to look?
2003 Ford Expedition XLT
4.6L 4x4
Is there a way to tell which Cylinder Head I will need? I know I am getting the drivers side. But there is Romeo and Windsor. I have a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6L. Is there a way to know without removing the head itself? I don't want to remove it until I am ready to start adding parts back on.
So I have a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6l. Are the heads interviewed with the 5.4? A buddy has the 5.4 heads. Since I have the replace the valves and all, can I just swap the two heads. The 5.4l is from a 2003 XLT as well.
So the valves and such bent on my truck when the timing went. All the timing components were replaced. Should i go another 4.6 motor or just replace the heads? Any opinions on that?
What all does it take to switch out the 4.6l with the 5.4l? Should I just stay 4.6? I need to replace my motor. My timing was worse than was originally thought and it is not worth putting the money into the motor that has 165k miles in it.
So apparently my PCV valve is on the passenger side valve cover. The hose runs from that to the throttle body right? What runs on the driver side then? There is a hole on that valve cover as well. I know it is something simple I'm missing while putting this truck back together.
Edit:: 2003...
Sorry for the double posts.... It seems like it stayed in time.... When we turned it to put it in time before removing the chain, everything lined up. That being the markings on the sprockets and all. There all lined up like this.
Only thing we could not find, was the two marked links on the...
So in other words.... I'm going to probably need to take it to a mechanic and pay a good amount to have it all taken care of? I didn't think this was a interference motor. Was told it wasn't online.... Not here though. Mother.....
Ok. It's been a while since I've updated. Been so busy. But we finally got around to messing with it. Seems it was the timing belt guide. I'm buying a whole timing kit though
We will inspect. Weather is just starting to break here. Hopefully get a chance to start the break down process and find out what it is. I appreciate the help from you guys and if you come up with anything else, please let me know. Open to all suggestions.
