Front & rear windshield washer NOT?

It's fuse # 45, 20A (Front/rear washer pump), fuse box in the engine compartment. If the fuse is blown, any reason not to buy at Autozone or Carquest? Mark

Front & rear windshield washer NOT?

Don't think frozen. The car's in a garage and reservoir is totally liquid. I'll check the fuse.

Front & rear windshield washer NOT?

Just recently. Connie said the washer wasn't producing fluid to the windshield. I added fluid to the reservoir that was already at least 1/2 full so I doubted fluid level was the problem. And that's where progress stopped.

    LED Headlights- Unexpected “negative”

Anyone know if Ford has come up with an LED low beam retrofit for 2018 XLT halogens?

Anyone come across trash container that fits 'here'?

I guess I asked the wrong people. I didn't think that I was the only person aware of auto trash containers of such a size as it would absolutely not interfere with a small woman's control ability--but then who am I to understand all the ways of the Ford forum cognoscenti ;-)!.

Anyone come across trash container that fits 'here'?

I think a trash container with a hook on the side just might fit by hooking onto the side of the ledge in the image. Seen anything that might work? Mark

    HID Headlight Conversion

Well if you do please report back. From my perspective, I can't get my arms around the idea that any bulb will significantly increase visibility absent getting rid the (horizontal) reflector and doing as headlights have done for the past hundred years...aiming down to the left.

    HID Headlight Conversion

When my dealer suggested to Ford that they wanted to install LED's in our '18 XLT (like the Platinum) to replace the OEM low beam, Ford shut them down period. Ford said doing so would require a software change and ++. Ford would provide no installation information. The intent was to get rid of...

    Manual 1st + 4WD

Back out, put in D, tires spin/vehicle slides. Back out, put in M1, no slide/no spin, vehicle moves forward. Someone had said earlier in this thread that M1 should only be necessary to hold the vehicle in first gear that the vehicle was smart enough to figure things out. My experience is at...

    Manual 1st + 4WD

This time, after backing out of the garage in 4WD/snow, putting the XLT in M1 I was able to (after a lot of very slow maneuvers) get the nose pointed toward the house so my wife could then back down the step part of the drive to the turnout then go forward down the rest of the drive. M1 was the...

    Manual 1st + 4WD

Points 2 and 3 understood (I've done the same as you re 3). The idea is stay in the lowest gear going down and up the asphalt driveway. From the street, the driveway is up and straight @ ~7-8 degrees, then makes a 90 degree left turn for ~40' @ ~10-11 degrees then on the concrete garages apron...

    Manual 1st + 4WD

3 Questions: 1. The XLT is in the garage. Driveway has snow. Before backing out, the vehicle's in 4WD/snow. If I place the transmission in manual first, does that have any + bearing on reverse traction or just if I'm going forward? 2. If I'm about to drive up the driveway that has snow/ice, is...

Does the 'snow' setting 'stick' after on/off?

About a foot of wetter than usual snow for this time of year last night. This morning, I pulled Connie's car out of the garage while in 4WD/Snow (forgot about the manual shift option and didn't also have it in low). Although we were plowed last night, her side of the garages can't be reached by...

Does the 'snow' setting 'stick' after on/off?

Again, this is my wife's car so it's hard for me to quickly get a 'just try it' answer. I'm presuming that if you set the vehicle to 4WD, after you turn off/on the engine, you're still in 4WD. But what about setting the transmission to Snow and then on/off the engine. Will the transmission...

    4WD + snow tires?

You had to be here. After 3 days of constant snow, my wife starting getting seriously claustrophobic--not the size of the house but knowing she couldn't get out. To the point of breaking out her snow shoes because she 'had to go somewhere'. When there was no where. If she'd gotten down the ~200'...

    4WD + snow tires?

This was our 7', 2009, 1 week snowed in, heaviest snow since moving to Evergreen. Trying to get out with the truck was a hail mary, cabin fever, doomed from the start escape attempt ;-). After realizing that me in the Silverado 4WD was not superman, I tried backing out one more time. The second...

    4WD + snow tires?

18" of snow didn't 'float' your Expedition? That or close to it sure did my 2000 Silverado 3/4 ton 4WD!

    4WD + snow tires?

If either of us were still working I would absolutely have snows on the work vehicle. I hate to be late more than I hate the cost ;-). I know sometimes she'll think she's driving slower and think that she 'did' drive with snow and ice on her mind but... So I guess it comes down to (for me)...

    4WD + snow tires?

Evergreen CO = mountains Has anyone living in the mountains found the stock tires and 4WD set to snow sufficient for snow, ice after a day or two of snow + inclines? I can wait and see if my wife slides off a cliff but that's a bit drastic ;-). Her old 4WD Suburban definitely needed snows. I'm...

    3 Questions

Info your re leaving in 4WD really helps, thanks! I read and understand how the RL's powertrain really does all kinds of 'stuff' for the various road conditions and I can feel a very significant difference between normal and snow. Is there some significant 'stuff' going on with the XLT and 4WD...

I know the foot sensor is there and don't use it. Connie gave up on using it and just uses the button on the door. I know that my feet were no where near the sensor when the door came down on its own.
