intermittant engine start

Service Engine Soon light
Thanks to BRIANGEE for info on that evap monitor. My situation is the fastest speed limit on this island is 50mph, and able to cruise at it (or above) for 15 minutes is almost impossible due the many small people places/outposts. Am happy that code has not reappeared.Will give Google a try...- djhl

Searched the local auto shops and no smoke machine to buy, except a big/complex one for many dollars. Wrapped fitting and hose with electrical tape, and cleared the code with scanner. Can't find smoke machine on-island. The picture is exactly the valve and green colored fitting. Did wrap the hose and fitting with some tape. Took two tries. Really hard to reach for me. Oil servicing
Place I had oil changed was a Midas, one of the bigger shops in area. Their paperwork said they used 5W20 which is per the owners manual and on the car oil cap, so I am pretty sure that's what I have. The "clatter" is hard to find as its intermittent. Can't seem to find any pattern to it...- djhl

Thanks for info. Could the fuel pump create that clatter when energized? The heat/cool control may well have been left in AC from previous trip(s). And that would turn on its fan, I believe? Will pay attention next time(s). Will try to recruit wife as "assistant". I definitely will be...- djhl

As regards the "clatter" - have additional info which has me wondering - was doing a code check (using my new ODPII scanner) and noticed I got the clatter for few seconds when I turned the key to ignition on (not start) per the instructions to read the codes. Recently bought 2002 w/the 5.4L engine. Only 50000 miles. Main reason I bought it. Previous owner said he had local garage change oil every 10000 miles. Seems a big/long interval to me. Yes to both above posts by johnboneske. Thanks for picture. That's the valve. Will concentrate on looking more closely at that line. And will be trying to get a smoke generator. But should that green fitting have some looseness? I can rock it a bit on the valve body's shaft, whereas cannot move...- djhl

Two things have happened. Rechecked gas cap and realized it was not "clicking". Worked on it and it now clicks when turning after inserting it. 2nd - had to disconnect battery for another reason and then light was out. It never did "blink"' just was on steady. Have driven car about 5 times...- djhl

2nd row seat won't tumble
Found/fixed problem. Took long close look at lever and pawl linkage. Determined that "stop" I felt was pawls just not releasing. Shot some WD40 into them, pulled hard on release lever while rocking seat, and it finally released. Some debris in wells/pockets of where pawls are, cleaned same...- djhl

2nd row seat won't tumble
Have 2002 Expy with the 2 person 2nd row seat which just folds up, and the single person seat which is supposed to both fold and tumble (for entry to 3rd row seat). Folds Ok, but wont tumble. Pull on lever about an inch up, and seem to get to a "stop". As if some latch won't release. Anyone had...- djhl
