2012 Expedition XLT lift gate latch jammed, gate is closed
No luck on this at all. I got to the point last night of trying to remove the tork bolts that secure the catch to the bottom of the car. I can't even get those to budge, even after heating them. Seems like the only option is to try and start cutting the lock out and replacing it.- brandonmoreland

Thanks for the replies. There actually isn’t a cable for the latch. It’s is electronic triggered by the switch on the outside handle. I’ll take a look at another 2012 and see what I can learn. While I am figuring that out I’ll try get some additional liquid wrench or WD 40. I’ll update...- brandonmoreland

New to the site, there is some great information on here! I have 2012 Expedition XLT. The manual lift gate is closed, when I press the button on the back of the handle to open it you can hear the lock cycle and the door will open maybe an inch, but the latch won't release all the way keeping...- brandonmoreland
