Just got my OEM brake controller installed and working. Cant wait to use it Sunday to see how much better it responds compared to the aftermarket timed controller. Thanks all for your hard work. So easy a plumber can do it. That doesn't say much for the Ford Service department that could not.
you are correct the expy is a 17 with 6 speed tranny. The TT is an '18. my brother-in law had the 10r80 in his F-150 and told the model down from ours. He live in the Catskill mountains and traded in after two seasons because of transmission problems.
We pull a freedom express 292bhds with our 18 xlt El with max tow package. Drive train handles well even in the Appalachian, Allegahny And Pocono mountains. Handles really well on calm days. Have stay under 60 on windy days. Listed as 5975 dry with 1600+ cargo room. Actual build weight is 6425...
Mine will not shift when remote start activated until you put key into ignition and turn to on. I was a little funny watching my wife figure that out the other day after I started the truck and she was driving and didn't put the key.
Just try swapping out your sunglass holder with the mirror and you will know if it can be done. I thought about doing as well because our mirror is crap and my wife hates it. She would rather move the rear view mirror to see the baby and not traffic.
Our old suburban allowed the the rear audio...
The only thing I don't like about the engine braking in tow/haul mode is that I feel it stays engaged to long. Often times I am accelerating with my foot on the gas and it takes a bit of time to up shift. I would think once you press the accelerator, it will shift to the correct gear much like...
It probably a loose connection or bad wire.I have the same problem. Usually after someone slams the hatch down. Typically opening and closing the hatch gently corrects it.
'17 EL with max tow feature towing capacity:
6600LBS with combined weight of 12,500lbs
9200LBs with combined weight of 15,200LBs with the use of a weight distribution hitch
Yes, the vehicle is capable of towing it
Camper Is 33'6" @7400 lbs. 810lbs on tounge (actual). I am also using the Reese Dual cam system Installed by the same dealer that installed on and set up on the Suburban. Before everyone starts the its to long for wheel base, the Chevy handled it fine.

Its is the same camper being pulled...
I had a 04 suburban EL and the handling while towing the same camper and WDH ( professionally installed on both) was much better. I get lot of wiggle in the Expedition. I never felt Unsafe in the Suburban. I have spent much more time white knuckled in the Expedition.Granted increasing tire...
Had to get an extended license( Free and Easy), but was able to use Forscan to enable remote start in Body Module configuration as in second video in post 4. Works GREAT!!!!!
I made sure doors were locked, pressed start button on Remote, pressed start button again and held until started...
From everything I have seen, you can only program a key if you have two existing keys. Since you only have one key you will have to go to the dealer. There may be a chance that a lock smith may be able to, but our local one would not program one that wasn't purchased from them. They wanted $150...
I never got any error messages. I copy and pasted that instruction section from a review on Amazon. I left that portion in for those that might get the error. Maybe I should have put quotes around that section or made it more obvious so Buckeye's wouldn't be confused. GO Terps!
OK, I haven't gotten to turn the remote start on yet, But just finished programming to new keys after 40 minutes of trying. Thru the program instructions in the video, my keys would start the expy, but buttons would not work. After some searching I found this and it worked perfectly. You do have...
We have an EL. I saw many more standard for sale than EL, very few of either with HD towing. My wife went from a suburban XL to the Expy, so we already had the ITS TOO BIG arguement. My brother has a tahoe and Navigator and she definitely wanted more cargo space. EL is definitely worth it...
Installed the WeatherTech's over the weekend myself. Rear went on fine, front seams like screw too short, wont grab. Mud flap pulls right off with little effort and about an 1.5" gap between back of mud flap and wheel well cover.
@Gary Waugh I feel the same about the front and probably will add...
I was in 4th and 5th thru the mountain sections of the trip this weekend, flats and rolling hills was mostly 6th. Typically, Tow/Haul mode doesnt make a difference on flats or small rolling hills. The main thing it does is keep the tranny from constantly shifting on steeper/ longer grades. It...
