    Radar Detector Mirror Wiring

Hello Legal - I just bought a new 2024 Expedition XLT, but have not taken delivery of it yet. I plan to transfer my Valentine One Gen 2 Radar Detector from my 2003 to my 2024. I used a MirrorTap to power it on my 2003 but am always interested in how to do it easier. Is the spiltter you mention...

    Should I Buy a 2024 Expedition?

Thanks for all the input. I found a 2024 in the color and with the options I wanted. The transmission shifted smoothly during the test drive. So, I decided to get off the fence and buy it. Hoping this new one gives me 21+ years of good service like the last one!

    Should I Buy a 2024 Expedition?

I need to replace my 2003 Expedition with a new one. I've been looking around town at the 2024's on different Ford Dealer lots and I like what I see. But when I check here on the Forum. still read about all the 10-speed Transmission issues these have. Has this issue been resolved? Or, does this...

    5.4l Coolant Manifold crossover leak

Al - Luckily with the help of your posts describing what you found, I was able to communicate to the shop what I thought the issue was. They got in there and it did require a new intake manifold, gaskets and an o-ring kit for the fuel injectors. It wasn't cheap but it could have been worse. They...

    5.4l Coolant Manifold crossover leak

The other day I was headed to work and the ol expy started to hesitate a bit at highway speeds. Didn't think much of it, I was low on gas so maybe some bad gas or something. On the way home I put in a few bucks but the problem got worse, no time to work on it so let it go. Next day I took it to...

2003 XLT Intermittent Turn Signal Issue SOLVED

Well, the turn signal issue returned, so I was forced to take action. I purchased this relay from Amazon: CEC Industries EF27 12V Heavy Duty 5-Pin Electronic Flasher Relay for Incandescent Bulbs (1-Pack) The reason I bought this one over the many others available is because...

2003 XLT Intermittent Turn Signal Issue SOLVED

Ham - Thanks for the picture and input. I have been driving for several days after replacing the bulbs and the problem has not returned. I too kinda think it's relay-related and will not come back if I don't use my Emergency Flashers again. So, I have decided to shelve any more work right now...

2003 XLT Intermittent Turn Signal Issue SOLVED

I believe (from reading other threads) that this model year (2003) has the one relay for both the turn signal and hazard lights.

2003 XLT Intermittent Turn Signal Issue SOLVED

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT. I rarely use my emergency hazard flashers, but I used them twice last week and now I have an intermittent turn signal issue. Coincidence? Both the left and right turn signals will cut on with the switch. After they run for a few seconds and sometimes they turn...

    Bad replacement headlights assembly

Tocster - Did you find a good solution for your headlight issue? I find myself needing a new front left headlight assembly for my 2003 Ford Expedition and was thinking of sourcing it from Amazon. I read somewhere many years ago that one way to sift / sort the good from the bad options, is to...

    Rattle Trap

Well - I found myself being called out-of-town for an extended period before getting the chance to try Kep's door rattle fix. While driving the car on my trip, the driver's door rattle started to get to me. So, I am trying something else as a short-term fix. I bought this assortment of felt pads...

How many miles on your 2nd Gen Ford Expedition?

Texas - Over the years, I have tackled the same things you have except I haven't had problems with the radiator support, the transmission, alternator or starter. I fixed my leaking side windows and roof rack mounts with flowable silicone sealer. But will take a look at that Captain Tolley's if I...

How many miles on your 2nd Gen Ford Expedition?

Just hit 218,511 miles on my 2003 Ford Expedition XLT. The A/C wasn't cooling very well so I took it to my mechanic. He found some problems and will be replacing the compressor, evaporator and expansion valve. Hard to get mad about the repair cost considering that I have never had a problem...

Pricing Services for Buying New Ford Expedition

Has anyone used one of the car buying services (like the ones offered by Consumer Reports, Costco, Sam's Club, and AARP etc..) and have any suggestions which ones to use to save the most on a new Ford Expedition? Thanks! Mako825

    Rattle Trap

Kep - So you snap off the door sill plate. Then remove the weather stripping from the channel and snake the piping into the round hollow part of the weather stripping through the weep hole? Do I have that right? Just trying to make sure I am following you. Thanks

    Rattle Trap

Kep - I like this idea with the piping. I went out to my Ford Expedition and felt around the hollow part of the weatherstripping looking for the weep holes but didn't feel any. Is it something you can only access by removing the weatherstripping from the door frame?

    Rattle Trap

Thought I'd bump this post to see if anyone has any new intel on the best way to deal with this problem? The driver's door on my 2003 Ford Expedition XLT has had this issue for years. For me the rattle started after one of my many weekend trips driving on washboard rutted roads to get to a...

    What does this go to?

Success! Went to the auto parts store. Found the closest fit of the available Dorman license plate nylon nuts I could find. Had to slightly modify them by drilling out the center screw hole with a 13/64 drill bit so that the license plate screw would fit and grab. All is well.

    What does this go to?

Nevermind...As soon as I posted this, the lightbulb came on. This is a nylon insert for the rear license plate screws.

    What does this go to?

We've been running errands all week in my '03 Ford Expedition and have used the rear lift gate alot. After one of these trips, I found this broken plastic clip resting on the rear bumper. I think it fell off of the trim around the rear lift gate or the rear gate itself. It looks so familiar but...

    New Spark Plugs

I had the Ford Dealer replace the plugs and they did a good job. They did not run into any problems (like breaking one off). Following your advice, I asked them to test / inspect the ignition coils and boots and replace only if needed (instead of just replacing them out-of-hand). They said that...
