    2015-2017 Gear ratios and towing

Take it from a guy who went through the same query and search. Don’t do it. Just because you technically can. Doesn’t me you should, and doesn’t mean you want to. The expedition is a great vehicle. Comfortable and capable. But, (as said in posts before me) not very stable at speed when...

    New camper - Sag issue

check your set-up again or call husky - based on the picture it looks like you're a little nose high on the trailer

    Show your Lifted 3rd Gens

is it just me or does the damn exhaust system coming out of the rear of these things kill the lifted look?? ugh.

    New camper - Sag issue

Yah - you just need to set up that hitch correctly. Husky TS is a good hitch - my Father In-Law has one. I’ve debating getting on. Check some YouTube videos and you’ll be good to go man. You’ll get some sway regardless based on the length of the trailer. That 29 is probably 32 or more tip...

    15-17 EL Owner Measurement Request

Not all vehicles are that way. Trucks have a noticeably higher rear wheel well. Or at least mine all have. Anyway, thanks for confirming it was normal.

True - it’s more a curiosity than anything else.

    15-17 EL Owner Measurement Request

They are difficult to dial in on the TT set-up. So that’s a pre-warning. The IDRS gives a bit of extra body roll as well. So if you’re coming from past trailing experience on a truck or other SUV just know it’ll be different.

    15-17 EL Owner Measurement Request

Not looking for a level area. When setting up the hitch to confirm correct weight distribution you measure fender height before hitching, after hitching but before distributing weight, and then after hitched and weight distributed. It’s to make sure you’re not over/under distributed. So the...

    15-17 EL Owner Measurement Request

Curious, i noticed something kinda strange when measuring my EL fender well height and setting up my W/D hitch on the Expedition. My rear fender well is LOWER than my front when sitting on level ground, unloaded. Nothing CRAZY - but (going from memory) the front was 36 1/4" and the rear was...

4WD and 2WD rear suspension difference?

looking at these - but my ‘17 EL is 2WD - is there that much of a difference that these won’t fit? https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Suspension/Ford/Expedition/2017/CSS-1168R.html?vehicleid=20171229693 Manufacturer just said they haven’t tested. So figured I would post here to see if anyone...

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

I do need to take it in and get a fully accurate weight. I have been guessing on the highsides for everything. Only one battery and spec says 612 hitch weight dry. I don’t ride with full water. And load on the front storage on the trailer is maybe 50lbs of tools/gear + 2 propane tanks. I try...

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

Went to the trailer today to give it a once over and the more I look at that factory storage platform the more I think it’s a good idea with negative results. Going to remove and solid mount the spare to the rear bumper and do a hitch mounted bike rack for the family bikes. Camping again in 2...

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

I’m going to the trailer this afternoon to really give it a good once over. I had a thought on what may be causing my “bounce”. The trailer has a storage rack built into the rear bumper that swings down and locks in place with 2 set pins. It’s almost always loaded with 4 bikes when we head...

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

i've looked at it - but Springbar WD/Anti Sway are all going to operate on the same principal for the most part. If i was going to stick with the spring bar system i would go with the Reese Dual Cam.

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

You bring up a good point. I’ll check the pressures next time I hook up. The shocks aren’t leaking - checked them already

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

i've got the 800lb E2 bars on there and they are tight for sure. I'm wondering if too tight, they have a mild flex to them. Next trip out i'm going to remove a washer from the head to raise the bars slightly and get them more parallel to the trailer frame. My wheel well heights are spot on...

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

My Fastway E2 (that worked fine with the truck) just isnt quite cutting it with the expedition. Its not that its a terrible thing or its undrivable. But from what i can tell, the IDS in the rear just allows too much bounce. And with the spring bars of the round-bar E-2, it almost accentuates...

    Intro - Looking to buy

I read somewhere that "The Tahoe is better at being a car, the Expedition is better at being a truck." Prepare yourself though, it will be a different ride when towing compared to the Tahoe because of the independent rear suspension compared to the solid axle. It'll take some getting used to...

Where to put the geny when towing a travel trailer

get a 4" bumper hitch kit off Amazon for the TT maybe $50 if you get the really good one. They support up to 250 lbs. Then add a hitch carrier and strap the geny down to that (along with coolers or whatever). I've got a Grey Wolf and master bedroom is in the front of the trailer. So having...

Trailer Brakes 4 pin to 7 Pin

https://www.etrailer.com/question-324324.html here yah go - should be basically the same. I have a Tekonsha P3 in my glove box that i maybe used 3 times on my Tundra (because the factory IBC was garbage in '16). Shoot me a PM if you want it. We can work something out.

learened somethng new with remote start

If it’s running and you get out and walk away with the key it will drive for a period of time I want to say I read 20 minute in the manual (like if you valet and forget the keys). But if you start it with remote start and get in without your key, even if you press the start button, it won’t...

Rushing air sound under normal acceleration

TXR you literally said almost verbatim what the tech I took a ride with today explained. He also warned me that if I put on a CAI it’ll get louder. Glad to know it’s normal - it’s just not what I’ve heard from my other turbo engines. For the rest they did a great job of meeting my requests...
