Just driving on the roads, hammering on the trans some. I was seeing temps ~170. This was prep work to tow our new trailer from Spokane, WA to San Diego. My trans temps with out the cooler and not towing were 195 - 203.
I will try and update this thread after my first long tow.
I just added the trans cooler to my 2017. Here is the prats and prices I found online from Byers Ford. This was about half the price my local dealer wanted to charge me.
7L1Z-7A095-B Trans Cooler $87.11
FL1Z-7C410-A Inlet Tube $8.18...
I was not able to find the correct pin to put in the connector. So what I ended up doing was cutting the orange wire, and using a barrel connector to extend the wire to the rear of the car.
What are recommendations for tapping in to reverse wire to run to the 7 pin?
Can you use the ForScan phone app for modifications or is that only for reading codes? I do not own a Windows or Apple laptop. All my computers are Linux. Any one tried to run this software in WINE?
You can flat tow a 2WD, but you will need to remove the rear drive shaft to keep the transmission from spinning. 4WD with transfer-case in neutral will keep the transmission from spinning.
