    End links weren't broken. They sure don't look brand new and I can spin/rotate them easily, but definitely not broken. Same for the sway bar bushings. Not new, but still there and I can't move the sway bar by hand or with a big pry bar.

    Gear temp.

    How are you measuring the temp? When I tried to monitor trans temps using the Torque app the coolant and the transmission always read exactly the same temperature. Once I started using Forscan Lite I was able to see the transmission fluid was not the same exact temperature as the coolant!

    I'd guess its actually coolant leaking. Directly above what looks like the wet spot (presuming thats what you're talking about), is the plastic "T" connector on the heater hose which is prone to failing on these engines. The dorman replacement part is usually considered the best option...

    Check your coolant overflow to see if the level is low. Gurgling sounds are typically heard if the coolant system needs to be bled of air....which is usually caused by a leak somewhere.

    Maybe the photo doesn't show enough detail. There is a pretty big gap that would've had to have been bridged to work! Plus even if smacking it around got it to start, the first bump in the road would've probably left me stranded again!

    I had a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer with a bad parasitic draw. I narrowed it down to the instrument panel circuit as well. Never did get it figured out before I got rid of vehicle; but strange that the instrument panel is a potential problem again!

    I know that can work for a failing pump. But all the banging in the world wouldn't have helped reconnect those burned out wires! Seriously! How about the next conversation where they suggested making that motor inside the fuel tank 100% inaccessible without dropping that whole tank!

    Ended up being the fuel pump. Once I pulled the old one the electrical connector was clearly burnt up. Glad it didnt light me up!

    Tried swapping the fuel pump relay under the hood and that did not solve the issue. I guess I'm leaning towards a new fuel pump. Quick check on rock auto and there are different pumps for the EL and standard lengths which surprises me.
