I took a surplus Fire Dept. cabinet insert from a Tahoe and did some customization to put in the back of my Expedition. Cost was less than $40 with some hardware and nylon retaining straps. I did cut it down vertically for my use case.
I would have preferred an Expedition solution, but a Tahoe...
Check the radiator supports closely. They are the most notorious place to rust out and that is going to be a problem sooner rather than later for rough country vehicle.
The roof racks sometime leak, especially as sealants on the rack bolt holes break down. Not sure if that changes anything...
Supposed to be in the fuse box. I cannot locate the code nor card for my used Expedition fuse box.

Lots of great threads on this site that I consulted when treating my very similar level of rust on a 2004 Arizona Expedition.
what did I do? Naval Jelly Rust Convertor on visible rust, washed off/dried, specific rust treatment...
I bought an Expy over 200k 18 months ago.
So far, the crapshoot has gone my way.
Do you have a Plan B for hauling horses if an 18year old ride fails? To me, the reliability/cost comparison is sliding scale.
Without sounding dumb, what do you do to cover your VINs on the dash?
I ask because I used to use baseball caps, but they ended up with some funky sun fading and sometimes would slide away. Silly putty? A few passes with tape?
